timing of weigh in?
This morning i woke up and weighed 74kg and after breakfast i weighed 75kg but by 1pm i am now 73kgs---i always thought you weighed lowest at break of day, İ was first weighed at 1pm by a dietician because it allowed 4 hours for breakfast to stop altering my metabolism rate--is this the correct time to weigh then--before…

Nasty question that I think's been answered before but....
Should I count foods that I throw up immediately after eating? I apparently have gastritis and suddenly while eating breakfast, it all came back up. Ugh. This is extra upsetting because I spent a while making breakfast and it was all colorful and healthy! :(

Today's oopsie...
SO I was doing all well and good today on my calories. I wasn't able to exercise today or yesterday though because I somehow, unbeknownst to myself, sprained my ankle, or did something that has made it puff up to tomato size. So I was giving it a rest and will resume, or at least try, my exercise regimin tmrw morning.…

Last Minute Family Dessert
So, I was doing so well, under my calories for the day. Had my workout planned. We called my grandparents in law to go for a short visit, and it turns out all of my in-laws are there, making HOMEMADE ICE CREAM! It wasn't so much that I wanted some, but I didn't want to be rude. So I ate it. And now I'm over. Not much, but…

Cardio vs. Weight Loss
EDIT: I caught this too late, but I meant my topic to read "Cardio vs. Weight Training for Weight Loss" Hi guys. I haven't been on this web site in a little while, but I'm ready to start counting my calories again. I have a question, though, as I've been trying to lose weight and my mom, who has taken a nutrition class,…

HELP! I can't seem to lose weight when I add exercise!
I have lost quite a bit of weight simply eating right and counting Weight Watcher points and/or calories. I didn't add any exercise because I have ALWAYS stopped losing weight as soon as I add it to my routine. I know it sounds crazy, but it is true. I have been tracking all of my calories and exercise for 2 months and I…

supreme pizza
So I ate really well this morning, and I knew I was going to be having pizza for lunch. I had two medium slices of pizza, and 2 glasses of 2% milk. (Skim was unavailable). I know I probably should have only had 1 slice, since they were close to 360 a slice. But I didnt. And I should have had water. AHhh. So I have approx…

Working out outdoors in the sun!
So the internet is full of calorie counters that let you estimate how many calories you burn from walking. But is there anyway to estimate how many more calories you burn if you are working out in the sun? Do you burn more calories if you are walking in the hot sun?

New and Have a question
When I fill in all my goals my calories remaining is 1330. To me that seems pretty low. Every site that I have tried to calculate my calorie says to lose 1lbs a week I need to consume between 1500 - 1800. Is there something different on how it is calculated here or am I missing something?

Calorie Goal
I have a question. Does MFP automatically adjust your calorie intake goal as your weight decreases? I would have sworn that mine was 1470 when I began, now it is an even 1400. Am I crazy? Just wondering, about the crazy part...and the calorie thing.

wanting a new scale
We just recently moved and I threw out our old scale, mainly because it was ancient and I don't think it was accurate. I am going today to find a new one. I also am open to ordering one if that is the way to get the best scale. Does anyone have any suggestions for scales they really like? Features to look for would be…

Necessary dietary changes during TOM? ...sorry guys
Hey everybody, I know that is necessary to increase your water intake and decrease your sodium, to help reduce the rentention. But is there anything else we should be doing, or paying more attention to, during this time to help with the temporary gain? Especially for those of us that it isn't always "temporary" for. What…

I am sure most of you can understand my frustration, but I really need to vent a little bit. I have always been a healthy eater and I have always enjoyed working out. My problem before (joining MFP) was eating too few calories (lose weight initially but then started gaining), but I have since changed my eating habits and I…

What do you eat for your exercize cals?
OK I recently got the Wii and totally love it BUT I am finding it very hard to eat the extra cals earned for exercizing :blushing: So I am wondering what do you add to your normal food for the day? How do you reward yourself?
Do you reward your successes? I bought a pair of earrings as a reward after my first week of being on my current plan because we went away for the weekend and I stayed on my eating plan. I have rewarded my efforts with an at home Espresso machine, a demantoid garnet for 25 pounds lost, and I now have a beautiful garnet and…

Blood donation :)
So, today I went and donated blood! I started donating in 2002 on my 16th birthday (legal age with parental permission in Australia), and have tried to do so regularly over the years. Donating blood is especially important to me, as my younger brother has been the recipient of countless transfusions during many an…

A Few Questions. Eek!
Alright, so I have been going through a vicious cycle of gaining 5 pounds, losing 3 pounds, gaining a pound, etc... for the last 3 weeks and it's really frustrating! (oh, and I only weigh myself once a week) I know that this is all water weight because there's no way in one week I ate enough to gain 5 pounds! I'm just…

Funny Thought...
When I was little growing up we ate healthy, we ate very healthy because the junk food was expensive and basically we couldn't afford it. My mom was raising 5 kids pretty much on her own and going to McDonald's or having chips for a snack was pretty much out of the budget, so we ate healthy. Now I find it so humorous that…
