thank you food scale
I didn't realize how much I was depriving myself of certain things until I weighed them on my food scale. Cheese oh cheese--how I've missed you. When measuring out a 1/4 cup of shredded cheese I was going lightly, when I actually measured the 28g out I got more that I thought. Same with the 85 grams of lettuce. It made a…

140 Forever.
I am 5'7 (maybe 5'8) and I know I'm not huge, but my stomach could definitely shrink down a size and still be in a healthy range. All I want to do is lose 10lbs but it truly feels like my body just won't let me. Does that make sense? Is there a point everyones body has that is their "natural" size. I feel like 140 is my…

Fiber/Protein question?
Prior to joining this website, I lost a lot of weight on my own... I decided to join this website so that I could get the BOOST to loose the last couple lbs to drop to my very bottom of my weight in my healthy weight range. My question is in regards to Fiber and Protein. I never go over my caloric intake, sugar, carb, etc,…

when to weigh in????
I have noticed that some people seem to weigh themselves everyday. I do not understand this. My weight flucuates from day to day. I have not decided when to weigh myself, every week or once a month? Unfortunately, I tend to rely on the numbers way too much. Any opinions on this?

disappointed and diet pop!
I just weighed in this week and although I lost one pound, I'm a little disappointed. Yes...this comes off of a 4.5 pound loss last week but I thought I would lose more than one pound for my second week. And yes...I know that one pound is a healthy, more permanent loss. But I thought I did so good this week. Exercised five…

Question about plateau
So I am kind of at a plateau right now, and I'm working at it. I may have broken it (I think I'm finally like a fraction of a pound less than my former weight) but my question isn't about breaking it, it's about afterwards. When you finally do break the plateau, and the number goes down, what happens after that? I mean, I…

P90X almost done, no change!!!!
I started P90X on March 8th and I will be done with my 90 day routine on June 5th. I have worked out every single day faithfully, minus my Sunday rest day of course, I did the doubles routine so I was working out doing cardio three to four times a week, and I didn't necessarily stick to the nutrition guide, but I ate…

Mostly venting but about deprivation and dieting.....
I just had a discussion with someone about weight loss. I know that her plan works for her (she has lost 70+lbs over her heaviest) I was telling her how I think something like weight watchers will work well for me because I typically fall off the wagon because I feel "deprived" - I like my sweets and I don't think I should…

Is this my plateau??
For the month of May, I have been fluctuating between 186 and 183, without really sticking to a weight for more than a few days. I have been consuming 2.75 - 3 litres of water a day, in a regular week I work out with my personal trainer 4 times, and I log all food in MFP and follow the guidelines that it gives me. Most…

Question of the Day
Hey folks! Gotta question for ya. Now I know you should rest when you are sick. I get that. My question is about calories. I have been nauseous since yesterday. Cannot eat much. How do you think that affects the weight loss? Is it going to be just like not eating my calories if I felt good? I mean, I would eat them, but if…

How did YOU determine your ideal weight?
Hi All, The BMI charts are ridiculous when it comes to what I should weigh - I am 255 and "should" weigh 165ish - which I haven't weighed since middle school. So how did you all set your goal weight? Did you go get body composition testing, did you pick at random, did you go by past experience? Did you bother to pick a…

Hangover days!
I was always a lightweight but now I've started eating much less, exercising more and drinking a lot more water I find that I cannot hold my alcohol at all. I end up with the worst hangovers ever! Now while I know the easy solution would be to stop drinking so much I am determined to make the most of my last month at uni…

Just when I thought I messed up really bad....
Just when I thought I had messed up really bad the past 2 weeks. Haven't eaten that great and hadn't lost a thing.....This week, I lose 2 pounds!! Does anyone else's body work that way? When you think you're eating the worst is when you lost the pounds for that week, but when you are eating wonderfully, you lose nothing? I…

Weightloss Body Weirdness...
Hi!! So strange thing happened this morning and I wanted an opinion. Maybe I just wanted to ***** and get support but either way... Lets start with a little back story because I'm sure this will be a factor... I've lost 60+ pounds in the last year and eight months. 35 of it (give or take) in the last 5 months. I've always…

Some Serious Frustration....
Okay so I will admit it....I have not been logging my weight on here because it keeps going up and down. When I weighed earlier this week to begin the 10lbs in 10 weeks at work the scale said 214.8. Today it says 209.0. I spoke with the nurse and she said maybe it was the different clothes I was wearing or the difference…

Is HCG diet safe???
I was wondering, I have a friend who is planning on starting the HCG homeopathic diet and her BMI is around 25. Is it safe to do such an extreme diet, (500 calories a day and hormones to keep your body confused and thinking its not starving) when you are not terribly overweight? I want to support her in getting healthy,…

More than one rest day
Ok so a little back story of me.... I have lost 131 lbs in about 15 months. In those 15 months I have only taken approximately 45-48 days off TOTAL from working out ( there have been a few weeks where i did not take a day off from working out). My workouts are normally 2.5 -3 hours long a day. I am leaving on vacation…

Need a new focus
Hi, I feel like such a quitter, but that's just what I'm doing. I'm finding that my eating habits are getting more binge-like - an issue I never had before tracking my calories. I hoard calories for the evening... eating 700 or so from the time I wake up at 5am until before dinner and then 1000-1400 from dinner to when I…

Rewards
I am wondering, is it OK to reward yourself with something when you lose say...50 lbs?? I have a friend who tells me that it is not OK because until you lose it all, you haven't really earned it. Is she right?? My husband told me that at 50 lbs lost I could buy these most adorable Coach shoes that I found and I was really…
