need help with staying full the healthy way.
Hey Guys.. I've been eating 5 healthy meals a day and trying to stay within or below my caloric intake. I exercise almost daily for at least an hour and I drink plenty of water. However, I've noticed a trend and it's starting to catch my attention. I tend to get extremely hungry in between snacks and meals, and especially…

I'm back... again!
Dh and I are doing it together this time! SO excited! We just celebrated our 9-yr wedding anniversary in June, and our 10-year is next year. I plan on having a vow renewal and big party for it next June, so I wanted to get as fit and healthy as I could in that amount of time. DH seems interested as well, so yay!

Has this ever happened to you?
It seems that every time I eat something bad and then go shopping, the clothes I try on always are a size or two bigger than I really wear. Is this because of bloating, or the food, or what? And I also realize that whenever I eat something bad, my stomach appears to be bigger than normal. I just had an entire bag of chips,…

undereating? can anyone relate?
I don't understand undereating. I usually eat about 1200 calories of pretty healthy foods, and I work out at least 45 minutes of day, running. I don't feel too hungry during the day either. I don't understand why I am not losing weight. I have heard about "starvation mode," but when I start eating more, I immediately gain…

Short people and muscle!
The purpose of this post is a rant, but also to see if anyone has any suggestions.... Well, I'm what I would consider short- 5'2" I have been working out 5-6 days a week since July 2nd. I am not looking to build any 'bulgy' muscles, just build a little tone muscle. I have always been somewhat muscular. At 8 years old, my…

I am back from vacation, we were gone for 5 days. I didn't eat right, but not fast food or binging. I didn't drink enough water. I drank plenty of adult beverages, not beer and not with juice mixers or full flavor soda. I was not very active I spent a lot of time lounging by the lake reading. But I was up and down a very…

I go up and down stairs (There are no elevators) and carry big loads in laundry baskets, as well as the basic- bed making, vacuuming, bathroom/kitchen cleaning. I entered it into the exercise section (I put 5 hours to…

Where do you measure your waist?
I've been reading online that the waist should be measured above the side hip bone and over the belly button. I've also read that it should be measured at the smallest part of the waist (which is often above the belly button, but below the rib cage). It seems to me that both need to be measured and kept track of. I am so…

I can't believe it . . .
I had 2 servings of Ocean Spray Craisins, and the sugar content was over 50 grams! That's about twice as much as MFP says I'm supposed to have!:noway: Is that bad? But it's from fruit, so . . .

South Beach? Yay or Nay?
I'm toying with the idea of doing the South Beach diet to improve the way my body reacts to food and help me learn how to utilize the glycemic index to lose weight. Anybody done it? If so how many weeks on which phases - what was your total weight loss and how did your body react when you went back onto carbs, etc? Also -…

Tammy's Health & Wellness Journey - What I Learned in School
This thread is basically the notes I took in lecture from my University Nutrition class. Do not take it as completely accurate info since some of it depended on my interpretation at the time (2005) of what I was hearing in lecture. The understood science of nutrition at the time may have changed since then. Meaning what…
