Needing Some Help...
Hey gang. I have started 2009 off great. I have dropped quite a bit (in my eyes) of weight and feel much better. However, I feel that I've sort of plateaued. One week I weighed myself and found that I had dropped a lot of weight!! The next week I put a few of those pounds back on. I've been hovering around this area for a…

Visiting the Family
I am currently on vacation to visit my family, and within seconds of walking in the door, there was a caramel cake practically placed in my hands. True, I did not say no.. BUT my question is, what is a POLITE way I can make them understand that I am serious about eating healthy this time, and don't want their junk food,…

Tracy Anderson

BIGGEST LOSER!
i was just watching re-runs of the biggest loser, we are way behind on the shows here (i live in Ireland) but i was just thinking, not to take away from any of their achievements, because they all did really well, BUT on this site, we do this without personal trainers telling us to exercise every day and get our butts out…

Not Losing!!!
Ok so I am doing everything that I need to do in order to lose the weight and this week I gained 8 ounces. I am getting over a cold but over the weekend I was able to work out. I felt really good about my workouts too. My weekly weigh ins are Mondays and then today I weighed in just to see if there was a difference and I…

Scared, Sad and Trying Desperately to Surrender to Doing Goo
Hi. This is Schatzie13. All my life I was heavy, extremely active, yet heavy. Finally in 2005 my doctor convinced me to undergo gastric bypass surgery. My start weight was 330 pounds at just under 5 foot tall, size 30/32. Over the first two years I went down to 170 pounds and size 10/12. I managed to maintain that weight…

The First Week of the Rest of My Life
This week is my D-day. I am a robust 183.2 lbs and I am ready for change. I started with a Labor Day bike ride of 15.3 miles and continued the trend of exercise with an hour of cardio/weight training this morning. I am already trying to keep the amount of food I eat down. For instance, and I am proud of myself for this, my…

Back for good
I have been away for some time and now I'm back to lose this weight and be the healthiest me I can be. I had a family death and some other things to deal with that kept me away. Luckily I haven't put on any weight and I've gotten in a bit better shape. I'm looking forward to getting back to the health routine and reading…

What's your reward?
If I can reach my goal weight of 155 (17 pounds to go, woot!), my husband is going to take me back to the Dominican Republic where we had our honeymoon

A swift kick in the pants...
is what I need. It's seems like I get motivated and do well for only a few weeks, then I get sick or depressed and go back to eating crap and not exercising for a few weeks, then it starts over. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how do you make it past that point? All my room mates lead a very unhealthy lifestyle,…

HELP!!!!!
Ok guys, so I've got this new but old love in my life  and things couldn't be better. He is the love of my life. We are childhood sweethearts and are madly in love  . Just like any new relationship though we want to spend all of our time together. I work three 12 hour days a week and college, he works 3rd…

I want to do this so bad...
I'm so miserable. Before our daughter, I was steady at 130-135. At my heaviest during pregnancy I was 180. I delivered at 35weeks, so I probably would have gained a bit more still. I'd lost around 20 when I went in for my post-partum check-up. So I was at about 160. I'm now between 175-180 and miserable. My goal is to get…

Interesting reaction to compliments
My wife and I belong to a wine tasting group on our neighborhood. We meet once a month from September through June--we take off July and August because so many people are traveling, etc. So last night was our first tasting after our summer "vacation". I received a lot of compliments over my new appearance, among them being…

sexist and rude remarks
Two years ago, when I was in really good shape, I went out for a run and towards the end, a car driver yelled some sexist remark out the window to me. They were going fast, and they were gone as soon as they had come. The thing is that it freaked me out because I get into a zone when I exercise, and it really startled me.…

what have I done???
I hate myself right now...I'm pretty much back to where I've started. I've let myself gain 10lbs. Not cool. All because I freakin' crave carbs and sweets!!! x0 I suck. I feel awful and I feel like I look awful. The hardest thing is I know its my own fault, and only I can stop it. Why the heck can't I practice more self…

What the heck?
I lost 38 kg before in 2005. Looked and felt real good. If there hadn't been so many changes and traumas after that I would have probably kept it off. But it was really bad. I was diagnosed with a thyroid condition in 2003. An auto-immune disease called Hashimoto on top of it. I tend to be heavier. But with the hormones I…

Having a hard time staying motivated
I went out for a friend's Birthday last night and ate ENTIRELY too much, and now I'm at my boyfriend's for the weekend, and I'm already having trouble finding healthy food options. I'm having a tough time staying motivated. No gym or salads all weekend is making me feel really bad about myself, which is making me want to…

i need to find a group
I need to find a group that is doing a weight loss challenge that is simple to follow. I need something I can work on and follow the thread. Any ideas? I'm looking to lose a total of 65-71lbs, have hypothyroidism, and I am a single mom of little 2 boys. If you all know a good group for me to joinn, please let me know. I…

Rewards?
I've been thinking that perhaps I ought to have some sort of reward in mind for reaching my first goal. Something NOT food-related. But, I've no idea what would properly motivate me. So, can you all share with me what rewards you have (or have used) for yourself?

Need Cardio help/motivation
Help? I used to be so much better at Cardio. I was in Jazzercise and LOVED it. Then I moved and now the closest class is about 40 miles away and completely unrealistic with my schedule. I go to Gold's and I have tried a few of their classes, but I am not feeling it. I will try again, but in th meantime, I am…
