I just read on a blog that you lose more fat quicker if you exercise before you eat in the morning. It said: "By working out first thing in the morning, before you eat breakfast, you force your body to tap into its fat stores (including that stubborn belly fat) much sooner than if you exercise after eating." 5k results are in!
so i ran my first 5k on saturday... being 20 lbs overweight, 45 years old and running at 6500 ft elevation, it was no easy task. but i did it! i did it in 40 minutes 50 seconds and I DID NOT FINISH LAST! i wasn't even close to last! how 'bout that! my new goal is to run the same race next year in 30 minutes.

does anybody rollerblade?
I love to rollerblade. It is a great workout. When I looked up on the database how many calories it burns in an hour, it game a number that seem too high (over 700). I usually do some hills and go at a moderate speed on flat roads. Anybody have an idea if this is close or way off? Thanks and have a fit day.

I am confused, at the gym I use the elliptical, I put in my weight and as I am working out it checks my heart rate, however it tells me the total calories I burned is 326 and my hrm says 236...should I just ignore the machine and go with my hrm???? anyone else ever have this problem?:ohwell:

I wanted to know how many calories I should log for swimming. I swam for 40 mins and did about 23 laps of breast stroke. The pool should be about 20m. Any guess? I would say I did it moderate strength.
