How do I balance exercise/calorie consumption for weight los
I'm 5'3" and 160 lbs. I have been dieting for about a month now which includes a 30 minute elliptical workout three time a week and a calorie goal of about 1200. I have only exceed the 1200 calories on days that I work out and on the days I don't I am usually within 100-250 calories shy of the 1200 goal. I drink about 8-14…

Weight gain after slight change in goals?
I recently changed my goals from losing 1.5 pounds per week to 1 pound per week. I have been feeling dizzy and light headed, and my doctor thinks I am anaemic. However, I thought I might need a little more food, so I changed my goals. In the 4 days that I have been eating an extra 250-350 calories a day, I have gained back…

Hello, I have an interesting topic that i want to dicuss. It's Sunday morning and I couldn't sleep so I was looking at the message board and I ran across a woman who has similar goals to mine. She wants to lose 40lbs so her final goal weight will be 180. I looked at her pictures and she doesn't look like she weights that…

Help...
I started MFP exactly 3 weeks ago. I have become compulsive in entering everything in my food diary and have started exercising at least 45-60 minutes at least 4-5 times a week. Despite never going over my 1200 calorie diet over the past three weeks, I lost only 2 pds the first week and haven't lost even a pound over the…

Wait out plateau???
About a month ago I increased my exercise habits. My weight loss had been slow & I was feeling good after walking- so I turned my walks into jogs. I also started being more mindful of my carbs (which I was always over, even though they are "good" carbs). Well, the first week of doing this, I lost a pound- huge loss for…

are you FREAKING kidding me???
So yesterday on the news they said they confirmed a case of hepatitis A in a worker at a local mcdonalds. I don't eat there much, and it was during a 3 day period, so I wasn't too worried, but I logged into MFP and double checked my diary. The first 2 days, nothing. The 3rd day? Frickin " Mcdonalds Chicken McGrill" I…

Calling an end to this binge
Hi people, I have had a week long binge, and I could go on and on with excuses, but I will spare you. I thought if I made it public that I was calling an end to this binge, it might be a little easier. Any words of wisdom would be helpful. I know I can turn around a week of overeating, but I'm afraid that I may just be…

The Scale...
Can anyone help me? I have been working out/eating the right way for about a month now and I'm seeing a slow change, but I know muscle weighs more than fat. I weigh myself everyday (I'm sure that's not the right thing to do), but I do a body test every day on My Wii Fit Plus. It calculates my BMI and weight. I know it's…

Not really what i count as a recipe more a tip.
If you love pasta, try having it with salsa dip like you'd eat with doritoes. 7calories in a tbsp. So i tend to do some pasta then let it cool a little and stir some through !

Strength Training
HELP! Finally decided to do some weight lifting this morning using 1, 3, 5, and 8lb weights. Only did 20 minutes instead of my normal hour walk before weight training just to warm up my heart. But I only got credit for my 20 walk for my exercise calories. Do you get exercise calories for strength training???? Well even if…

losing pounds but not inches?
A good guess is you're not weight-training and eating enough protein. Doing both is key to eliminating fat and building muscle. Resistance training burns calories during your sessions and stimulates your metabolism afterward. To achieve the second goal, fortify your diet with either 4-6 additional ounces of meat or 2…

Start a weightlifting regimen, and gained weight?
Have you started lifting weights and gained weight, now nothing? Your body wised up and adapted to the punishment. To keep growing, start building muscle outside the gym, with nutrition and lifestyle choices. Bolster your workout with small meals or snacks before and after, and continue to eat frequently throughout the…

The calorie thing... to eat them or not to
It is as simple as calories in vs calories out. I hope the formula below explains the concept and helps regarding the MFP "1200" You can figure it out on your own with the help of an online calorie burn calculator - won't be exact because it doesn't account for body mass, hormones, etc. just considers your gender, weight,…

Frustrated
OK. I started out in size 42 jeans that I have worn for about 7 years. I have to date lost 51 lbs. (Yay me!!) My waist has shrunk considerably, I measure above and below the belly button (because i have read conflicting reports), yet I am still only down to a 40. I have tried on 38s with no luck. I believe it is my hips.…

is it possible...
that my face has gotten skinnier? In the past few months, my glasses have been falling off my face, and every time I answer the phone, one side pops away from my ear. It's a bit annoying, but if that means a skinnier face (and new glasses), then YAY! :) Anyone else ever experience this??

How do you reward yourself for big weight loss?
My ultimate goal is close to 100 pounds, my first goal however is about 65. I may want to lose more, it really depends on how I feel once I reach my 2nd goal. These are big numbers, and although I feel just being smaller & healthier is quite a reward, do you give yourself small rewards for hitting certain points in your…
