Soda
I've been told numerous of times that Soda causes belly fat/weight gain. I was wondering if that is true. I have a soda addiction and it's hard for me lay off of them. If I don't drink at least one a day, I get a headache. I need a few pointers on this situation. HELP! :/

Any advice for caffeine withdrawal symptoms?
I don't drink coffee but I drink a lot of Cola. I'm trying to quit it but it's causing me terrible headaches that painkillers can't help me through. I don't think it's the sugar as much as the caffeine that's causing this and I'm not as worried because there are healthier ways to get sugar. But is there a way to quit Cola…

Scared
Hi everyone, I don't know where to start. I need to get healthier and feel better but I'm scared that it won't work because I can never stick to a program. When I was younger I was an athlete and then a weight lifter but I haven't exercised seriously in 10 years (I'm 36 now) and I have gained about 50lbs slowly. I'm weak,…

Drastic Weight Flucuations normal?
I'm sorry if this topic has been beaten to death, but I'm really frustrated... When I first started on this lifestyle change, but before I started logging with MFP, I stepped on the scale and it was 198. A week later, it zoomed up to 215 and stayed there for two weeks to completely fall off overnight on the last day of my…

Fitbit and MFP?
I just got myself a Fitbit and I love it! One question I have is around the calorie count the Fitbit calculates... When I do spinning I wear a heartrate monitor so I can accurately track the number of calories burned per class and track them in MFP. When I run, I wear the heartrate monitor and my Fitbit so I can continue…

Weekends - How to Stay On Track In Your 20s
Hello to my fellow myfitnesspallers! I recently joined myfitnesspal and have really been enjoying it so far. I am usually pretty good at staying on track during the week by eating well and exercising. But, the weekends tend to be a different story since I am not on such a strict schedule. With all the family gathers,…

Adding moves to threadmill
I have recently added side crunches and some dance movement to my threadmill workouts. Will that help in weight loss? I'm on the treadmill for an hour if that helps. I usually have it at a pace of 3.0 when I'm adding the extra movement so I don't fall off while the treadmill is moving. Lol

Breastfeeding calories
Am I supposed to adjust my daily calories to account for breastfeeding? I am exclusively breastfeeding my 4 month old and she eats about every 3-4 hours. If so, how many daily calories should I add on and does it change once she starts eating solids (I will be breastfeeding till 1 year).

Anyone here play Australian Rules football (AFL)?
So I play amateur football in Western Australia. AFL is one of my favourite cardio sports. You have the running in 360 degrees like in Soccer, but you also have the physical contact like in rugby. It's the ultimate sport. Anyone else here play? I'd be interested to see if people from the UK or USA have heard of the sport!!

Goal: cut weight in HALF. Is this reasonable?
Hi, 5'9" 22-year old male here. In making continual (tangible!) steps towards weight loss I signed up for an account yesterday. I also bought a fancy digital scale. My initial goal weight I entered was 130 because I want to be pretty skinny before trying to build muscle, and I thought this was a loss of about 90-100 lbs.…

Activity Holiday: Do I Log?
I'm not sure if 'getting started' is the correct area for this topic, but as I'm a newbie I thought I'd ask here... if I need to move the topic somewhere else, let me know! First off, I know I'm going to get varied opinions on this, as everybody works in a different way, but that's what I'm counting on... I'd love people…

Hello :) This is me and my story :)
Hello, in order to introduce myself here I will just copy my "About" description :) Feel free to add me as a friend. I think I will start with a 1200-1400 calorie goal, eating back all my exercise calories, as mfp suggested. Anyone with me? :) I will appreciate it. I have just had it enough. 5 ft 8. Trying to be "healthy"…

BMR/TDEE vs. MFP
My fitness pal has me eating 1200 net calories a day. I went to http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/, which said my BMR is 1455, TDEE (sedentary) is 1746, and my daily calories based on goal is 1397. So now I'm really confused. How can I eat less calories than my BMR and be ok?

How to start?
Just joined this site as way to see if I can lose my pesky 20 pound gain on my own, or if I need to go to weight watchers for tough love. Through out my life I have gone on my little health kicks where I go to the gym every day and am into the newest fitness rage, but lately just wanted to take a break from that and hence…

Tip for the n00bs, Don't get scammed.
I would like to take the time to help those of you who may be new to weight loss/fitness. Some of these programs are complete rip offs and don't work at…

Back at it...
I lost about 15lbs using mfp 2 years ago, and gained it all back. :( I am DETERMINED this time to not f&^k it up. So....I ask you this.... if I do a circuit training video, let's say from 20 to 40 minutes 5 days a week and do 10,000 steps at least 5 days per week, and follow my given 1350 calories a day, will it work? I am…
