Celebrating 1 year of Maintenance
I can't believe it's been a year already and it's honestly been the best year of my life I started my journey at 388 pounds at age 40. Everything hurt. I would get winded showering. In Feb.2022 I decided to make a change. I had an appointment with my Doctor to look into weight loss surgery but I decided to give it one more…

Afib and weight loss
Last August, I was diagnosed with Afib. Everyone's different, but the way it affected me was that my heart beat way too fast for minor effort. At the top of a flight of stairs, I'd be bent over, hands on my knees, chest heaving as if I'd just run a fast 100-yard dash. This was not how I wanted to live the rest of my life.…

7 freaking years...
Morning everyone! I wanted to share my success and the long road behind it. The image below was a wake-up call for me. I was unaware of how much weight I had gained and was dealing with type 2 diabetes and other health issues. I knew that a change had to happen. Initially, like many others, I felt frustrated and…

26lbs gone in 11wks
At 182lbs I thought work out people were CRAZY. Truth: I was insecure. Secretly I wanted to be them but making fun of them made me feel better about myself. That's hard to admit. 🙈 Fast forward I lost 26 lbs. I knew AFTER focusing on nutrition the next habit for sustainability was getting active. I started dance classes to…

New Diet Goal!
I've gotten the point where I've actually awknowleged where most of my excess calories are coming from, and just 'not logging' anything that makes me go over out of guilt isn't helping anything. I've cut back on a lot of things that were high-calorie improptu snacks, too! I feel like I'm on a good track.

Cancel before trial period ends
I thought about canceling so I was looking into it and now I'm 100% sure I want to cancel. This is for the simple fact that MyFitnessPal offers no simple solution to cancel before the trial. And. I've been online and on my phone for over an hour now just trying to figure this out. Can anybody out there give me a hand?…

Hello everyone, thank you for reading and maybe I am not alone out there. I have suffered from BD most of my life from when I was about 7-8 years old till about a year ago. I decided a year and a half ago to really change things up since my weight really yoyo'd all over my timeline of life. I stopped drinking all alcohol,…

First Pound Lost!
I wanted to share the news that I lost my first pound. Obviously, this is not an impressive accomplishment by any means (especially in comparison to some of your success stories), but it’s meaningful to me because it is an objective acknowledgment that I am making progress. My next mini-goal is to lose 5 lbs: hopefully…

I've been at this for years, and still need support do you also?
I started in 2010 to lose weight upon being told I was a diabetic and would be put on insulin if I didn't at once start to lose weight. I weighed 288 quickly getting down to 256 by just counting calories. BUT I became STUCK!! I went online and found a site which closed in 2020, we relocated to MFP!! I'm now down to…

I lost 40lbs this year
One of my success stories this year was to become leaner and lose my weight as at 2022 my highest weight measured was 225 lbs and I am 5’4 I height that was a lot of weight at the age of 22? Damn that was a lot of weight and I didn’t like myself, I remember this time last year exactly Dec 18th I decided to change my life…

50 lbs lost in 40 days.
Well, my story starts when in November 2023 I ended up in ER, and after my sugar was measured (865) I received new diagnosis: diabetes, and was hospitalized. Diagnose was bit of a shock, as over last half year I was receiving confusing sugar readings (will skip explain all for space sake). With 355lb weight, congestive…

I've lost 100 pounds!!!
At the start of January I went to a soccer game with some friends. I was so big I could barely make it up the stairs. My knees felt like they were gonna give out. I was getting winded showering. At my heaviest i was 388.6 pounds. My dad died of a heart attack at age 51 and the way I was going it was gonna take a miracle to…

I have several NSVs...
Some non-scale victories are: my A1C went from 12.3 to 7.1, I've lost 8 clothing sizes. My face doesn't look like a bowling ball, My double chin is almost gone, I can breathe when I walk up the stairs, I am still alive, and I feel better than ever in a really long time. The best one, I walked 20 minutes today! Woo hoo! I…

My storie short and sweet!
To be honest my main goal for coming back again and again to these challenges is a fear of going backwards. And this fear comes from the lose then gain it all back and more syndrome. That was my life before SP. I joined SP in 2008 and started the challenges within that first year. I went from 226 (my max) to 170. I…

Did it again!
Like many once the lockdown happened I became a remote employee, and didn't realize that access to never ending food was actually a bad thing. I quickly gained my weight back just because I was no longer active. Bad excuse but the truth. So this year I decided it was time to feel the same about myself that I did before…

41 pounds gone in half a year.
The left was me at my heaviest 205 lbs 5”7 and 24 years old. On my right 164, 25 years old. It really got me when a former student of mine saw me and said “Miss you look 15 years younger” I hadn’t realized how much my weight was holding me back from being an effective and energetic teacher, plus in my personal life. It is…

345 DAYS....101.6 POUNDS GONE.....A WHOLE NEW PERSON
345 days ago, I was sitting in a lazy boy after cutting firewood all day exhausted and sore to the point that I didn't know if I was ever going to get up outta that chair. In that moment I realized that I wasn't going to be able to be active enough to keep up with my then 6- and 2-year-old boys. And I didn't want to be the…

Longest Log-In Record?
I am currently at 129 days and I have worked out for most of those - I haven't changed much in the way I look (I need to work on my diet and be more consistent with the heavy lifting I think) but I feel f*cking fantastic!!! building the habit of logging daily, even if I didn't exercise, even if I ate like crap and didn't…
