Early morning exercise
I have been working out 5 days a week at 5:00 am. I normally do not eat before heading out to the gym - is this a good thing? I am feeling ok to get through my work out but I can tell I am hungry by the time I get home. Is it best to work out on an empty stomach or should I be eating beforehand? If so, what should I eat?

device to track miles
I already own a HRM device, but I have been exercising a lot on trails and it's difficult to calculate the miles. I am looking for a cheap device that will help me track the amount of miles that I walk/run. I have heard of Garmin watches. Does anyone have something that they love? Toning Workouts ?
I have lost almost 20 pounds which was my beginning goal. I think that I have lost enough weight, however I would like to still lose some inches in target areas (mid-section) and would like to tone up my body. What are some good exercise DVD's or programs that focus on toning alone?

All I hear is 30 day shred this, and P90x that, so I decided to see what all the hype is about. I ordered 30 day shred on amazon for @ $10, and started this am. 169 calories burned in 39 minutes
I just slowly went through some of the Wii Fit Plus exercises and my HRM showed 169 calories in 39 minutes. Not a great workout! lol Especially for the time invested! Just wondering if this happens to anyone else. My maximum heart rate is 192. While doing Plyometrics today, my heart rate jumped from 157 to 223. I felt like my heart was pounding out of my chest. Elliptical vs Treadmill
I normally run on the treadmill; however, I got a cramp in my side last night so switched to the elliptical. I feel that I work much harder on the treadmill, and get a better workout; but according to the machine, I burnt more calories on the elliptical. Are these machines not really that accurate, or could that be true?

Just ran a 10k! - was on the coach all Christmas....
At New Year I couldn't run the length of myself. I've now lost 21 pounds and tonight just ran a 10k in 49 mins - amazingly i had a lot left in the tank at the end and a few minutes to shave off before summer racing. If i can do it, trust me, pretty much anyone can... Good luck folks!
