Plateau
I have hit a plateau. Over 6 months I have been successful in losing 39 pounds; however, January has me at a plateau. Any suggestions on how to get past this point? My goal is to lose 15 more. My goal is not an unreasonable one-it is the top end of "what I should be" for my height. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Snack or not?
Okay so I just finished Jeri Love Extremely Ripped 1000 workout #2 and about 10 minutes of her Extremely Ripped DVD. So my question is should I have a snack at this time at night or should I skip it? I will be going to bed at about 12am.

HELP! BURNING FAT VS BURNING MUSCLE
When I work out, my HRM is telling me that my target heart rate should be somewhere around 140-160, however when I'm doing my cardio workouts, I'm usually at 170 or above for a good portion of the time. I've been told that in this range, I'm burning more muscle than fat. If I slowed down to 145-150-ish for my heart rate, I…

My shoes however aren't helping, I need motion control which I already established, I have low arches. Anyway, i'm wondering aside from new shoes what stretches will help me warm up before I go? Or even after. My feet…

Hate running?
I'm not sure if anyone else really hates running the same way I do. I know it's necessary to reach my goal, but every time I get started I make it about five minutes, then stop. It seems too high-impact, and for an asthmatic like me, really bugs my lungs. I recently discovered a new machine at my student rec center, and I…

HR monitor experiment, I will try this for 4 weeks and post
I'm stuck on a plateau and can't seem to lose the last 20 pounds, so I've decided to try an experiment. Since the whole concept of losing weight is calories in and calories out, I'm going to figure out how many calories I truly burn throughtout the day vs. the calories I eat. To do this I'm going to wear my HR monitor all…

Anyone have good excersize tips?
I'm not really fit at all, but I would like to be. My goal is to lose weight, but I want to be in good physical shape in general. Are there any good excersizes I can do that don't require buying weights or the like, and don't take hours a day?

Biking in gym vs for real
I am preparing for a 200+ ride in July and would like some advice on a training. We live in a colder area of the US and I can't really hit the outdoor trails until later in the spring, but all the training schedules I've seen suggest starting in February. If I start on a stationary bike in the gym, is that adequate to…

Beginners - How many calories do u burn?
I'm a beginner and I don't enjoy excercise. I work out on my elliptical and the most calories I've burned in one day is 200 and thats if I work out twice. Who doesn't eat their exercise calories?
So, I've been doing some research and I'm getting mixed results as to whether or not one should eat back their calories burned during exercise. I have not been eating mine, because I read on another website that you need a 500 calorie deficit to burn fat. Is this true or just something someone made up? I know there are a…

P90X or similar programs
Hello all, Anyone have experience with P90X or similar programs like Slim-6? I am tempted to give it a go just to see if I can handle the training. I want to get fit fast, and this program promises that I will... as long as I can keep up with the regimen. Has anyone been successful with this program? Thanks in advance. :)

Elipticals
How accurate are they? I usually do 30 minute cardio and burn quite a few calories. It varies depending on how hard I push myself. The least amount I've burned is 365 and the most is 437. I enter weight and age. I just want to know how close it is to telling me how much I actually burn. Thanks!
