Any Bowflex owners in the house?
My account has remained dormant for the past month because of so many events. Unfortunately, I haven't updated my journal in a span of time but I haven't done too much damage. Regardless, it's nice to be back and hope everyone is doing successful in their journey to a healthier life. That being said, tomorrow I am…

I exercise a.m. 99% of the time
and it is usually best about 9a.m. But I am up at 7. Is it wise to eat brekkie first, or is it ok to eat it when I get back at 10? What do you all think? I was thinking if I ate before I went maybe I wouldn't burn as much stored fat. But, I was also thinking if I eat earlier, like 8 a.m., then my calories would be spreak…

tracy anderson method
I saw this in this months Self and wonder if anyone has tried it? The concept is based on doing many reps with very low weight dumbells. Supposedly Madonna and Gwenyth P swear by it.

Am I getting an accurate reading....
From my HRM? I bought it w/o doing enough homework. It is a sportsline watch. I push the button about a million times while I am working out so I think it should theoretically have close to the right heart rate at most times. The problem is that I didn't have to enter my weight, height, or age. Does that mean I am not…

whiplash...
I got rear-ended tonight. My neck hurts. Yes I filed a police report and yes I am planning on going into my doc tomorrow. Any idea what to do in the mean-time? I took advil. (Its only stiff and sore I'm not paying 75 bucks to go to the ER tonight...) I'm really super worried this will throw off my working out. :frown: I…

SBF Fitness Challenge, Nov 9
I'm up first to go teach yoga. We biked 90 minutes yesterday. We are going out again today. We have a chance of rain this week, yeah! (sorry CP), so we need to get our biking in as much as possible while it's nice. Also doing push ups today. I liked the microwave story, even if it was a little gruesome. Happy workouts! Mary

Stronger Better Faster Nov 8
It's Saturday! I'm sure most of you are sleeping in if you can. My day started off rotten but I think it's on the up. I discovered something totally gross this morning while making breakfast, but I think it would be rated R to tell you all. It has to do with blood (that wasn't ours or human for that matter) and…

How Do You Know?
I'm just curious about when adding your exercise to your daily log how you know what one to put the video under. For example the last 2 weeks I"ve been doing the Slim In 6 Start Up which is only 25 mins so I just put it under aerobics low impact. Since Tuesday I've moved up to the 50min Ramp Up video which now includes…

20 Ways To Burn Calories
1. Vacuuming -- 25 minutes of vacuuming around your home will burn just about 100 calories. 2. Gardening -- Like to garden? It's the digging and raking that will reap the most fitness benefits. These are the bigger calorie burners when it comes to gardening. In fact, you can burn up to 100 in just 15 minutes with these…

The total core
I just got this thing called the total core. It's like an ab rocket with wheels. I actually bought cause it has lime green wheels. I'm out of control buying fitness crap, I need an intervention. Anyway, it was only $1 to try it for ten days, and they pay return shipping, if I don't want to keep it. I just used it for like…

Good morning! How are you all doing today? I'm worse and yet cheered up. Alex woke up in a great mood singing and making noises and then the screaming and hips attachment started. Are HRMs worth it?
I'm in a class called Turbo Kick this semester that's been good for helping me get into shape, but lately I feel like my progress has stalled. I was looking at another post about HRMs and I wanted to ask: Are they worth it? I don't have a ton of extra money (college student + today's economy = bad things) but I consider my…
