Ok Gang-- End of first week--how did everyone do with their goals? I got in 104 miles for the week. Next week will stink--have to leave town tomorrow and won't be back until Thursday and no riding while I'm gone. :grumble: Hey--we need a name for our biking club!!

Hand weights
When I feel like being a couch potato, I have 3 lb weights that I pick up and use for various arm exercises. My husband said I am wasting my time because this is not enough weight nor is it good muscle strengthen exercise. What do you all say? Am I wasting my time? :sad:

Update On Turbo Jam!!
I just did it for the first time. & It kicked my butt!! BUT I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. I've found the thing for me =] & I burned approx. 500+ calories in 45 minutes. How exciting!!!

Are any of you having consistent success using the numbers in the excercise logs and eating all the calories. I'm new to mfp and finding it hard to feel confident about this system, but maybe this is the loudmouth insecure fat guy inside me who doesn't want to change talking.

Today we bought a wagon that seats 2 kids up to 50lbs each and it hooks onto my bike!! Now I can go biking and I don't have to worry about a sitter! Now they can come with me!! YAAAAAY! :bigsmile: :bigsmile:

Recent ankle injury, what excercises can i do now?

rollerblading?
so a friend and I just went out rollerblading for an hour, and MFP tells me I burned almost 800 calories! yet, somehow... i just don't believe it! has anyone else had this same experience? because i know i worked super hard, but it was too much fun to think that all those calories were actualy burned.

Hip Issues
I am an avid runner and consistantly run between 25-30 miles a week; however, I have recently begun to have pain in my left hip when I run. Does any one have any ideas such as streches that may help remedy my problem?

So i set a biking goal of 40miles this week i have 14 already this morning i wanted to do 7 more but the pain in my knees hurt so bad i could only do five and i work a 10 hour day until 10 pm so i only have the mornings i cant break it up.
