Pedometer Tracking
I know there are a few other people here who use their pedometers everyday. I keep a note on my excercise journal where I am at with steps and such. I was wondering if anyone else would like to keep track on the posts and motivate each other to do more. Just a thought. Let me know what you think.

cardio vs strength
6 days a week i burn a boatload of calories doing a very fast, boxer-style jump rope. i've been sick the last few days and don't want to start that just yet. so i thought strength training would be good and looked up the calories burned from lifting weights. it's about 1/4 of the calories burned doing cardio. it hardly…

Finish your workout the right way and start your next sessio
Chill Factor Finish your workout the right way and start your next session even stronger Cooling down after a sweaty gym stint falls low on the priority totem pole, right down there with flossing and organizing the junk drawer. But slowly returning your heart rate and blood pressure to normal is important because it…

EASTER fitness challenge March 13
Am I the first one at the party?? Good morning all! I'm off to the gym to get in an hour before work. 30 minutes of stair climber, plus 30 of weights, and maybe some BOSU ball work -- inspired by your workouts! Yesterday I did morning yoga for 20 minutes, then a quick cardio interval during my lunch hour, then another 30…

Today I did....
Good morning all, After a long night up with my 2 year old due to bad dreams (according to her, there were bugs in her bed crawling all over her), I decided the only way I was going to get energy today was to work out, well it worked. I burnt 701 cal by doing Turbo Jam and the 35 minutes on the elliptical and I can't…

Where did this ambition come from??
Yea me! I went running this afternoon and was planning on running 2 laps around the lake (2.7mi) but I for some unknown reason got ambitious and ran 3 laps, 3.4 miles!!!! I can't remember the last time I ran that far. It was no fun doing it, but it feels great now that I am done. Probably gonna feel it in the morning…

Easter Fitness Challenge March 12th
I'm up first. . .wonder of wonders. So, in case you're curious, BOSU is super fun, but hard. It's like step aerobics, but if the step was made of jello. My legs are a bit sore, but I'm surprised I'm not in sorer shape this am. I found out that an "intro" class means you spend 15 minutes before the class learning (doing!)…

Hula Hooping
I've recently been given a hula hoop and have been playing around with it. It makes me feel like a kid again. Anyways, I looked it up and you can burn from 400-600 calories an hour hooping. How cool is that!!!!! I'm pretty excited:happy:

Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill
Does anyone own this type of treadmill? If so, what's your experience with it and would you recommend it to someone else? My wife's treadmill is starting to fail and according to Consumer's Report this treadmill is highly recommended but there's no store where she can try it out before she buys it. She's reluctant to put…

Can't Lose Weight
Hi guys, Any advice you can give me would help. Here's the deal. I'm training for a mini-triathalon and did the run through last weekend. The good news is I finished and I finished in 1:22. That's a pretty decent time. Here's my problem: I've been swimming for a couple years and lost about 20 pounds. I'm real happy about…

Fun exercise!
I thought I'd share this because I just spent the last 20 minutes having a good time exercising. If you're bored with your workout or just want to de-stress and have a little fun, dance it out! Wii love it!
Believe it or not, we finally found a Wii. It was used, but it came with the warranty. I just started playing the baseball batting practice with the wife. I love it because I can practice my actual swing for the season (the real season), and the wife actually feels the workout in her core with batting practice. I can't…

non-scale victory!
OK, so I am totally bragging here. One of my non-number goals was to be able to do "crow pose" in yoga. It's a balancing posture that looks like this: http://colveyco.com/gallery-annex/yoga/plate-110.jpg and this afternoon I actually did it. I didn't hold it for long, but holy crap. This is a pose I used to laugh…

Advice
Just wondering what you all thought. I'm a bit sick at the moment with a bad cold and congestion (really hoping it doesn't turn into an ear infection) which obviously means that I don't feel as energetic as normal. Is it a good idea to go to the gym or should I give it a rest and wait until i feel better, what do you all…
