Used a heart rate monitor-SHOCKED at results
I have been doing the Biggest Loser Cardio Max DVD for 10 weeks now. I just started using a heart rate monitor today. Previously, I used a figure of 350 calories burned each day that I did the full 50 minutes and added that to my caloric intake for the day. With the monitor, I never reached my max heartrate but at the end…

love the puffie
I just got home from an interview at a McDonalds about a mile from here. Interview went well, getting over there didn't. I'm thinking it was the cold air that did it because in the summer that same bike ride doesn't set my asthma off like that. Gotta love spring... my asthma and allergies both go nuts.

Easter Fitness Challenge...Easter!
Well, we made it. Here's my summary: I did very well on two of my goals: weight training 2xs a week/ abs 3x a week and keeping up with cardio. But, not so well on trying to study everyday (although I would "catch up" my time) and also slacked way off on my vitamin taking. For the next challenge (Memorial Day?) I'm going to…

POLE TREKKING OR WALKING increases calorie burn
Last year when I was working on my weight, I discovered pole walking. I just love it! Somehow it makes walking so much easier and lo & behold the twisting action with the poles slimmed down my waist area quickly. Every site I've checked on pole walking states you lose 20% more (some say as high as 44%) by using poles. Plus…

Morning, ladies! Today is just walking for me. I have to walk to my church job and back two times, so that's 60 minutes. Here's a question: Does an intense workout make you retain water?
