How do you fight that urge...
UGH...ok it's been 10 days since I have had any kind of soda! And really I haven't missed it...until this afternoom :frown: I use to drink a 20oz Coke every morning for "breakfast" and then go get a Rt 44 Dr. Pepper everyday from Sonic during half price drinks after work. Well that Sonic drink is all I have thought about…

Product Comparisons, Generic vs. Name Brand
Recent discovery: Walmart now sells a generic nonfat Greek yogurt with the same grams of protein per serving (23g) as Fage, my usual brand, but with 10 fewer calories per serving and at $1 less than I purchase a comparable amount of Fage through Sam's Club — $3.98 for 32 oz. Great Value brand vs. $4.98 for 35 oz. Fage.…

Shift Work Eating
Hi everyone! I have a question. I have recently began working a 12-hr night shift job and I work 3-4 nights per week. On my "days" off, I try to flip to a "regular" schedule so I have time with my family and friends...and pretty much the rest of the world for that matter. I know that it is best for our bodies to eat on a…

Creating your own food item
I created a pita from a place I love. they have a nutritional chart of everything so all I did was add everything I put in my pita and use the numbers it comes up with for me but the problem is, I don't know how accurate it is and you'll probably never know unless they used measuring tools. and it depends on the person who…

drinking tea like water
I know drinking water offers many benefits and I try to drink a lot because of that. But sometimes it's easier to get more in if you drink it in the form of tea. Wouldn't unsweetened tea basically give you the same benefits? It's like 99% water and I'm assuming it will hydrate you and give you better skin, hair, and…

going vegetarian in 2013
Anyone else turning veggie for 2013? :) This is something I have thought about for a long time, and finally decided to take the plunge. Dont nesc. think meat is wrong-- still not sure exactly what I think -- but I do think it's sad, and no longer for me.

Help with meals
I do not like vegetables (unless potatoes and some peas, and pickles). I have been eating a Special K Protein bar and 1 hard boiled egg for breakfast almost every morning for the past two weeks. Lunch has usually consisted of a wrap made with a low car tortillia, 2 slices of 98% FF Sara Lee honey ham, and around 1.75oz of…

I have added weight lifting to my previously cardio heavy workouts so I really need to get those numbers up. I am working on including more protein rich foods in my diet (switched to Greek…

Since starting MFP I have completely overhauled my eating habits - I now actually eat breakfast, lunch and dinner (2 courses) and snack in between also in order to try and meet my calorie goals for the day of 1920 (recently changed from 1420). I am constantly finding that I am not hitting my calorie goal on days that I…

apple cider vinegar recipes?? anyone??
I'm looking to incorporate some Apple Cider Vinegar into my diet. A friend of mine swears by it but she takes it by the tablespoon (yuck). I need some lean recipes. tracking sodium
Lots of people talk about lowering sodium levels on here, I thought that sodium encouraged water retention but it didn't seem that important to log. Today, however, I have decided to track this too and was really shocked to discover how high skimmed milk is in sodium. Despite this discovery my sodium levels today are…

MFP has given me a daily goal of 1630 calories. Yesterday, I barely broke 1000. I'm in a severe depression, and am trying to eat healthy. I know that even a 2lb weight loss will increase my self esteem. But, I'm really afraid of going into starvation mode and having my body not lose any weight. Today's lunch was a large…
