I'm trying to lose weight. I'm 39 yr old female, 5'3'' and weight 135. I run 3 miles daily and do weight including sit ups for about 20 min. My calorie goal is about 1200 daily. How do you use friends on MFP?
It seems important to so many, some saying that it is essential to their weight loss. How do you use friends on the site? Do they hold you accountable? Is it just a "good job" that keeps you going? Is that an important aspect of MFP to you?

Lost Height, so how do I calculate BMI?
I was 5 foot 10 inches all my life 50+ years. But started to have back issues, the last 5 years: degenerative disk disease, & a hip replacement. I am now 5 foot 9 inches. When I calculate my BMI, do I use 5 foot 10 inches, or 5 foot 9 inches?

What should I be looking at? Total calories or net calories?
When I go to the reporting tool, it allows you to view net calories or total calories. Both, for me, appear to have a daily goal of 1200. The NET calories should equal 1200 b/c they account for eating back exercise calories burned, right? So which view should I be looking at to see how I am doing, do you think? I have been…
