Body Image
Hey guys, first time posting in the forums, would love some feedback. I reached my goal 6 weeks ago and maintained for 5. A week ago, I looked in the mirror and saw nothing but rolls and fat, so I dropped down to 1200 cals again for the past week. The thing is, I've been miserable emotionally. My brain constantly reminds…

Lose all the weight? or find balance with muscle gain, and toning?
So I am writing this, because I wanted to know if others were experiencing the same thing I was. So I am 6'2'' and 226 lbs, and have lost 50lbs in last two years. I started doing crossfit everyday incorporating in cardio, and weight training for 30 minutes everyday no breaks. I have found over the last 2 months that I cant…

Calling All Maintaining Beasts
I recently just celebrated 520 days streak & a MFP bud called me a 'beast.' It made feel really good because by my own diligence the hope is that it may help encourage others. SO ... maintaining beasts - what is your highest log in streak and do you still continue to log everyday & how long have you been maintaining?…

Coming off a diet - how to maintain
I am just coming off a diet in which I have lost 22lbs quite quickly (in about a month and a half) and I am scared to eat the amount of calories that are recommended to me. While I was on my diet, I was calorie restricting (eating about 800 or less per day, which I know is bad) and the amount of calories i have been eating…

Hello from chilly NYC!
Hi guys, I'm recently returning to MFP after a couple of years (!!) off. I'm an ED survivor and an actor in NYC. For the last couple of years, I've been at healthy weight that I feel good about, but I'm here so I can be more conscious of what I'm putting into my body. I'm happy to add any friends who are maintaining and…

What Top 3 Stats Do You Focus on When Reading Food Labels?
Just out of curiosity, I was wondering what top three items do most long-term maintainers hone in on (with food labels) when trying new things or tweaking current food repertoire? In order of priority, I look for:* Total Calories from Fat (esp. Sat or Trans Fat) * Sugar * Carbs vs Net Carbs

Skinny Miserably?
Is there such a thing? And How do you know your nearly dangerously there? I mean I'm very happy with my weight, i'm just below half in my ideal weight range, far from underweight according to my BMI (or w/e) , but lately I've been getting cranking at everyone and angry at things more than usual. I mean I know I was once…

Secret tips to help maintain.
So here is one of mine. I work with a great group of people. But.....they do love to talk a lot about their co-workers including me I'm sure. I starting maintaining a year ago, and I am quite sure that this is how some of their conversations went. Co- worker #1, "Wow, she sure lost a lot of weight!! It's amazing, but I'll…

Losing a bit more after maintaining
So I reached my goal weight of 135 lbs about 3 months ago. Now that I've been successfully maintaining here, I've decided I'd like to lose a few more pounds, to get to a better racing weight for performance reasons. Curious if anyone else has broken maintenance to lose more weight and if they found it was just as easy as…

How many calories will I be eating to maintain?
I haven't hit my goal weight yet, but I'm confused about calorie intake when I finally do. Right now I'm at 1,200 calories daily max, and always come in under my goal. I am 5' 8", and my goal weight is 140 lbs. Will my calorie allowance increase once I hit goal? Or will it need to stay the same to maintain?

Looking for new maintainers to friend!
Day 1 of maintenance mode and I'm pretty nervous about changing gears - moderation isn't something I'm used to with food. I could use some other newbies (and veterans, honestly) to friend and chat with! Add me if you'd like. =)

Is it important to ease into Maintaining?
Im still about 14 pounds from my goal, but I have lost 28 pounds fairly quickly (not really meaning to, it is post baby weight). Anyway, I've yo-yo'ed a bit over the years, and have never really tracked maintenance. Is it important to gradually increase my calories when I reach my goal, or can I just eat at maintenance…

Struggling to shift from a mindset of losing to maintaining...
So, I have lost over 75 pounds and I am now trying to maintain my weight. I lost the weight eating about 1600-1800 calories daily with a weekly "cheat meal" that I do not track. Now that I am at a point of needing to maintain my weight, I am really struggling to shift my thinking from losing to maintaining. MFP recommends…

Vegetarian and need help to add calories while limiting carbs
I was introduced to mfp in January by my friend in Jan. It has led to a huge change in my diet in short 6 weeks. I am struggling with increasing blood sugar and have tried many things to bring it back to normal. It is so true that "what gets measured gets improved". MFP helps me track my carb intake with its vast database.…

Long long, short story, with some repeat notes. Felt good to write it out.
With ALL of this said (and alot of repeat posts. sorry, from other posts). I was concerned that everybody was right and I that i wasn't the "healthy, look I was gone for. I decided I should put on afew more lbs, till I saw my face back to normal. (It has yet to be back to normal), and then maintain. I began to go back to…

bf% - deficit or not?
Forgive me for asking what may seem like a really basic question, but trying to search for an answer has left me confused with contradictory information. I'm pretty much at my goal weight, give or take, having lost the 14kg/30lb I needed to lose. (I'm 5'5", and now 60kg, so bmi of 22) But my bf% is still a little higher…

Dealing with the "Sunday Guilt"
Hello. I'm really struggling to keep up my healthy eating regime at the moment. Particularly at the weekend. For example I had homemade fish and chips Friday, a big 3 course lunch yesterday and a 2 course one today (not healthy choices) ,plus some alcohol and obviously my breakfast. And just polished off 2 bits of toast. I…

My eating disorder sped up my metabolism??
i lost around 55 pounds eating a few hundred calories a day for over a year. There were a few binges, but I was definitely under eating. When I decided to recover, I ate over 2000 calories without exercise and gained about 5 pounds. However, the 5 pounds refuse to stay on and I have to eat a lot even to maintain a BMI of…

When to up calories during maintenance
I've just started the maintaining process by upping my calories by 200 for the past week, (was on 1250, now on 1450) I am 8lbs under my target weight so I wouldn't mind gaining anything whilst figuring out what my maintenance calories are, but my question is, when I step on the scales tomorrow, obviously I know if I've…

Understanding MyFitnessPal and Apple's Health App together!
Hello! I was wondering if anybody here is using Apple's Health app as their pedometer throughout the day? On my phone (iPhone 6,not sure if its on all iphones) it tracks my movement throughout the day and automatically put's in into my MFP diary as 'excercise' calories (to have back) Does anybody understand how this works?…

If You Ate Whatever you wanted, no excersize, what do you think would be your stable bmi/ weight?
As I see some MFP people maintain on well over 2000 calories, I am curious to know what you would guess your weight or bmi would get to and stabelize at if you left off counting and ate whatever you wanted naturally. Mine is around 27 - 28 bmi, I'm 65 years old and do some outdoor walks for groceries and such.

How Much Do You Believe?
My rl MFP bud & I had an interesting conversation the other day & I thought I'd toss it out there to survey other maintainers' consensus. After reaching goal weight, did you get rid of your oompa loompa clothes or did you keep them as a 'just in case'? * If you got rid of them, when did you do so? ie. 1 mth, 3 mos into…
