Looking for maintaining friends.
Hi! I'm a 21 year old looking for some friends who are interested in maintaining their weight. I don't really care if you're young or "old" or male or felame. I'm just trying to build up a support/encouragement system for people who want to maintain. If I end up losing a little weight I'm not going to complain though :p .…

When you get there and you're happy, do you...
still have to keep changing your fitness routine up? For example - I run and I lift. When my body is where I'm happy with it (lean, defined muscle, but not looking to bulk) -- will I be able to continue with the same lifting routine and maintain the desired physique? On occasion I read things about needing to change your…

I need some insight PLEASE!
Hi! I've been trying to maintain for awhile. Was eating 1700-1900 and doing so, but with stress slipped to 1500-1700 since about late November. I have lost around 2-3 pounds since then... Should I go back to my pervious calorie amount or will I now gain on that? If so, should I increase all at once or in increments? I am a…

When do you know it's time to stop?
I have been dieting for a while and lost 30lbs in total. I have never looked so trim. However sometimes I feel like I've had enough! When do you know it's time to return to a "normal diet"? Is it weight, how you see your figure or something else.

So for those maintaining below 2000/day, is this a lifetime commitment?
I'm curious to know if those who maintain at lower than 2000 a day are happy with that and are you planning to continue it for life. If not what is your plan and do you think that low calorie maintenance will have an impact on you health?

Maintenance!!
I entered Maintenance! However I am confused. When it changed to "maintain" weight" it only added about 100 calories. I went from being able to eat 1350 calories to lose to only being able to eat 1530 to maintain. I went and looked at a few sites and it seems I do range between 1530-1778, if I add daily exercise I can get…

Activity Level
Hello, I'm kinda confused of my activity level... i am a college student and walk anywhere from 2.75-4.25 miles a day from going to class, grocery shopping, etc. I also do basic chores everyday like clean my dorm, laundry etc. I don't exercise other than that, however I find out of a 16 hour day I'm on my feet for maybe…

When is it too much?
Hello! I finally made my goal weight, which I didn't really think possible, but ever since then I've found myself still wanting to lose weight in order to get the six pack I've always wanted. However I feel that if I lose any more than I will be underweight.. And I don't want to run into health problems associated with…

Made My Goal, but it Still Feels Like a Battle
I've been at my target weight for about three months now, and I'm happy that I made it. However I still feel like it's a battle in a way...I haven't changed my logging habits and I still think about calories in vs calories out constantly. I've been a lot more lax with what exactly I'm eating, which is good, but I find…

So I've been maintaining my weight for almost a year now but I seem to be going through this cycle of losing and gaining 3-4 lbs and was wondering if any of you guys experienced this in maintenance? Difficult to up calories
So I decided to maintain, properly this time I hope as I don't think I should be losing more weight. But gosh, it's so difficult all of a sudden to eat more. I'm eating an extra banana between breakfast and lunch, but I got so used to my snack vegetables (next to my computer. I take pieces without thinking about it) after…

Maintainers - a question if you don't mind....
Hi all - I don't normally post things like this but I have a question. I've recently decided to move into "maintenance" and, like a lot of people, I really only know two ways of eating: unmonitored and weight loss. So, this is new to me. I've been slowly ramping calories up and what I'm finding is, the more I eat, the…

Almost to goal...worried about maintaining
I have 2lbs to my final goal weight. I set myself a 5lb range I want to stay in but I'm not sure how quickly to go about adding back in the calories once I reach my final goal. It seems like I'll gain the weight back if I jump straight from weight loss calorie level to maintenance calorie level. I let MFP tell me how many…

Maintaining on a lot of calories ? Anyone?
I'm not using MFP to lose weight but more or less to keep track of what I'm eating. I'm eating between 2500-3000 calories average. I exercise 3-5 times a week moderately. I'm 5'3 and just a bit overweight. Is this normal ? It's all healthy food. Is there any other females that aren't Athletes and are maintaining on this…

Regaining (just) enough weight after surgery
From May to December-ish, I lost about 45 pounds, going from 210 to 165 by limiting my calorie intake. 165 is about as low as I probably should be, although I had continued to lose another pound or two since then. Last week, I underwent emergency gallbladder surgery (apparently this is common after losing lots of weight).…

When did you decide it was time to maintain?
Was it when you reach your average weight, or when you fitted in a certain size or when you looked in the mirror and decided you were happy with your image?

Did you lose weight for yourself or somebody else?
I been thinking, i'm sure most ppl lost weight for themselves, I mean I use to hate myself from appearance, and how hard simple tasks were such as walking to the shop or trying to get a good nights sleep, now I'm much happier. But can't understand why someone would just lose weight, just for somebody else, how miserable.

Runner friends and maintaining weight
Hey there... I'm looking for more MFP friends who are also pretty active. I run 25-35 miles per week & I have a pretty active job. I had a pretty good grasp on scaling back my portions when I was still trying to lose some weight, but now that I've hit my goal, it seems like I'm always struggling to eat enough calories…

Maintenance is possible long term!
So here I sit 10 years after I made a life changing decision to get healthy. Since then I've lost 100 pounds. I'm 45 years young, 5'2, maintain around 128, 21% body fat and wear a size 2; I've maintained these numbers for several years now. If someone would have repeated those numbers to me ten years ago I would have…

Is maintaining weight harder than losing weight?
I entered the new realm of maintenance recently, and for some reason it scares me. Especially since i have seen people on here say "you may find it harder". If you found it harder, why? My maintenance according to several sites seems to range from 1500-1900. which isn't all that much and makes no sense since I have lost…
