Long Term Maintaining Exercise Strategies
I am ALWAYS tweaking my foods & exercise to maximize benefits. I've recently shifted my workout from more cardio focus to more strength focus. SO I was wondering what some of the other maintainers have changed in the activities compared to when you were losing? My Losing Regiment:* 45 min - 1 hr of cardio My Maintaining…

None of my interview clothes or coats fit!
I know that sounds like a complaining brag, but I really am annoyed. I've given away most of my work and regular clothes that were too big over the last three years and have a winter coat that is big, but looks okay. But darn it, I bought most of these interview clothes when I was skinny and, in fact, weighed the same or…

Lose beyond goal before entering maintenance?
I am about nine pounds away from my initial goal weight. I know I am still a way off but I am starting to think about maintenance. I have been reading this forum and see a lot of people say they have a five pound range on the scale. So I was wondering if before going into maintenance if it is a good idea to lose a few…

ive been injured for a week and have not been able to exercise at all. So all this week I've been eating 1335 calories everyday. Every day I've weighed myself and have been staying at 122.6. Today I weighed myself and I was 123. My question is should I reduce my calories and if so by how much? Or should I eat the same…

Trouble maintaining with a busy life
I'm sure that others out there share my situation. 2 years ago, I lost 70 lbs, going from 282 to 212. Even though my BMI at 212 is still considered overweight (I'm 6'4"), I have a decent amount of muscle, so losing more than a few more pounds would honestly have made me too skinny. Two years later since I hit my goal…

What should I do?
Hi there! I've been on MFP for 14 months and have lost 104 lbs. I feel great. I've never, ever been thin, like, since kindergarten. Well, it seems that I have perhaps lost a little too much, especially in my upper body. My lower body is heavier, although my sister insists it's not but all the loose skin makes it appear…

Fine line between counting/logging and obsessing?
I am often accused by non-dieters of "obsessing" over calories. Do I? I guess the answer is "yes". I know that to maintain my weight loss I must forever "maintain" my caloric intake. Is that obsessive? I don't know. But YES I log everything I put in my mouth and YES I have my phone out in restaurants trying to find caloric…

Just sharing
Hi, I lost 20-25 lbs in a year using MFP 3 yrs ago, I'm still maintaining the weight, did not bounce back as I kept my swimming routine & healthy eating habits. I just turned 44 & start adding strength training couple months ago. I should expect a couple of pounds adjustment here & there as I develop muscle mass & reduce…

New to maintaining..confused
Yesterday was weigh in day and I reached 124.8, my goal was 125, and my starting weight was 171. So I exceeded goal (yay me). I switched mfp to maintain and my new daily goal is 1540. I worked out and with myfitbit was able to earn a calorie allowance of over 2000. My question is, do you eat all those or do you stay under…

Gained some back and worried where this is going :(
I think Christmas, followed by a 10 day vacation in Florida, threw off my eating. Yesterday was my birthday and I had chicken nuggets, yogurt, chicken Parmesan, pizza, a muffin, and 2 slices of ice cream cake!! I weighed myself at 122.2, I was 117 last month *I'm 5'4) But today, I went overkill. I ate HALF OF THE CAKE that…

I reached my goal 6 months ago and I still continued counting. However, became less frequent until it stopped altogether.I still weigh myself and make sure I wear my tight jeans regularly so I know I am not gaining it back. I still exercise regularly and try to control my position sizes. I never had an issue marinating my…

10 day vacation up 3 pounds
Just back from 10 days in Thailand and was pleasantly surprised at gaining only 3 pounds. The Thai menu was much healthier with mainly fruit and vegetables; meat is a minor ingredient. I maxed out on their superb breakfasts, usually skipped lunch, but enjoyed a full exotic supper. Each day was spent walking among the…

Is it bad to just eat one large meal a day?
I eat 90 % of my calories in the morning during breakfast. Then I just have a small snack like carrots and a cucumber before bed. Will this still cause weight gain in the long term if I don't go above my daily calorie limit by the end of the day?

No calorie counting "trial".
So I am currently at my goal weight and initially was planning on continuing on with counting calories and tracking exercise but honestly feel like it's time to stop. I'm spending WAY too much time in the day obsessing over food/meals and feel like the knowledge gained from it all will be enough to stop myself from gaining…

I was on the 30 day challenge which guarantee a loss of 10 lbs
I loss the 10 lbs but now I am afraid that once the challenge is over I will gain it all back. How do I go back to eating food such as beef, pork, rice and bread without having to worry about slapping back on the 12 lbs lost. I have 20 more pounds to go! Should I just stick with the challenge another 30 days? Your thoughts!
