Still trying to find my way into maintanes
How am I supposed to know what to start my new maintenance calories? Want to move into maintenance with still taking off some new lbs I put on, plus whatever decides my maintenance goals. Looking for support and advice again? Thank you all!

Long-timers and maintaining weight
So I've been on MFP for a couple years now, and have been maintaining very close to my goal weight for about a year, but here's the thing: I'd like to have more friends who've had similar long-term success. Any other 750+ day people out there care to join in some more mutual support?

more binge advice
I'm writing this as my stomach is distended to its full maximum: so about maybe 1-2 months ago i wrote on here about how ive been maintaining my weight but yet binging 1-2 times a week and I mean BINGING haha. basic stats: 128 lbs, 5ft5, male, run 4-5 times a week (8-12km). when I approached the MFP community last time…

Should I increase my calorie intake?
I weight around 120 now. Anything below around 116 is too low for me. I still want to slim down, but I don't want to lose a ton of weight, or I'll be only 100 pounds. I'm 5'6", so I know that is underweight. I've started Julien's 30 Day Shred and there is some strength and weights in there. I'm not sure if MFP takes the…

trying to maintain
Not long ago I reached my goal weight (maybe a month ago). I changed my settings to maintain weight and it increased my calories up to 1800 or 1850, (due to also changing how much I exercised). At first I struggled to eat enough and lost more weight and have to admit I was a little bit scared about eating more. Had this…

Hello! (And question)
Hello! New to the site, and I have some burning questions about exercise and weight gain. So I've been doing the Insanity workout for about 10 months now, and have seen some good results... At least at first. I started at about 160lbs (I'm a 5'9" male 26 btw), I dont think I was necessarily chubby or anything, but I just…

Hrumph!
Well, here we are a year of maintaining.... and I have put on half a stone verrryyy slowwwllyy and now am stuck here. No matter if I eat less, eat more, eat a deficit, eat 2000 calories the scale goes up and down a couple of pound but my average weight remains 173.5lb. Now at 5'9" that makes me JUST into the overweight BMI…

When did you know it was time to maintain?
Obviously when you hit your goal weight right? But what if your goals keep changing? :\ Were you ever unsure about maintaining when you started? How did you know it was the right time? Is it ever?

weight the same but look fatter?
everyone says its because I've lost muscle and gained fat instead but it doesn't really make sense in my case. I've been maintaining for 2 years now but I never exercise. I lost weight by cutting down on calories and now I maintain by eating 1450 cal a day (weekly calorie counting). for the past month or so, Ive been…

When Did You Finally Believe?
Sometimes when I see a photo of myself & my knee-jerk reaction is 'who the heck is THAT?' At a closer glance I see that it is obviously me ... 35+ lbs lighter. This odd phenomena is usually followed by repeatedly asking the Hubs 'wow I really lost the weight huh?' in an attempt to somehow confirm that it wasn't just a…

I gained two pounds this month...
I still want to lose a few pounds but been mostly trying to eat at maintenance the last couple months, because I've just been so hungry. With the numbers I got, I was expecting to gain a pound this month... but it looks like I've gained closer to 2, which means I need to adjust my calories down by 100... and really try to…

1 Month in: Progress Report
So far, so good. Officially hit my 'goal' of being below 130 4 weeks ago. Since then I dropped a little further and so upped my calories a tad bit more. Now aiming for 1900-2000/day and staying active. That's my main detail: I don't want to go back to where I was before meaning being a couch potato! Pretty consistently…

Confused
So I've been eating 1200 calories for the last I'd say 8 months or so, for the past 3 months I haven't lost any weight, even though I've only been eating 1200. I've reached my goal weight, I reached it a long time ago actually but for some reason I haven't been able to bring myself to maintain. Mostly because I've been…

Maintaining weight, but changing composition
So I'm at my goal weight, but I achieved it primarily through calorie deficit and running/cycling, which has left me with a little bit of fat still around the middle and very little upper body strength/mass (but DAMN do my legs look good). In the interest of aesthetics, I'm looking to build some upper body muscle and…

Gained 5kg. since I went on maitance
Okay, so I'm 19 years old girl, I went to my goal weight (and even below for a short time) 50 kg. Went on maitance and gained 5kg. So now I weight 55kg, I don't like the way I look. I'm trying to go back eating 1200 calories and working out 4 times a week (that's how I lost the weight last time), but seems like I can't get…

What sort of "range" do you use?
I'm really curious about this because I finally got to a maintenance weight for the first time in my life. I've only been here since Labor Day Weekend. I went out of town for a wedding 3 weeks ago and was 3 pounds heavier when I got home. I sort of freaked and set my calories back to lose a 1/2 pound a week. Now I'm only 1…

Research on maintenance
A lot of what you see quoted in the press about how to maintain a weight loss comes from these studies: http://nwcr.ws/Research/published research.htm One weakness of their studies is that their subjects are self-selecting, and so far have condisted of a narrow band of mainly white women, with an average age of 45, and so…

Is this the right weight for my height?
Hey everyone! So, I am 5'0 and 100 lbs. I feel like this is a little bit too overweight for me even though my BMI was 19.5...I was just wondering if I should lose 5 pounds?

scale & tape measure users..question
I am not weighing myself..just because i don't need the drama. But I am measuring my waist. From what i've learned -- for good health one's waist should be at least half their height. I've lost two inches off my waist..and to be int he healthy range I have three more to go. I figure I'll weight myself at that point and see…

Eating Out
I have been maintaining for about four weeks now after losing 50lbs. My husband and I went to lunch yesterday at a popular chain restaurant and I decided after looking at their menu and mfp I could not eat there and be comfortable with that decision. We left and chose a different restaurant with healthier choices. My…

How do you tell if you are actually hungry or just greedy?
Hi, I was wondering how you tell whether you are simply having a craving (i.e. wanting to eat food even though you are full) or whether you are actually hungry (i.e. your body physiologically needs food)? Today for lunch I ate normal portions of noodles (carbs), veg (fibre) and fish (protein) for my main dish, then I ate A…

What's your plan to succeed in maintaining your long term, weight loss/fit body goal?
Most people start out with this plan of how they’ll get to where they’ve always wanted to be/look like/feel like/ etc. But, how do you plan on keeping that success? How do you plan on making sure that it isn’t a fleeting moment?
