Starting over and need an accountability partner - women only please
I've been struggling with restarting so many times that I don't even know why. I finally gave myself permission to throw all caution to the wind through the end of May, and now that it's time to hunker down and reclaim some willpower, I would love to meet other women who might be in the same spot. I ate so much stuff that…

Why is my weight fluctuating
I’ve been with MFP since August 2021. It’s such a blessing. At my best I lost over 61 pounds. It seems the past 6 weeks or so my weight has went up a pound and some days rises by 2-3, then come back to within 1 pound of normal. I hadn’t had this happen until the past few weeks. Is that normal? The only thing I really…

family genetics?
I got together with some rarely seen relatives this weekend, covering 4 generations. It was interesting to see the body shapes, sizes and ailments ... two of us (aunt and niece) with a 12 year age spread.. have the same hobbled gait.. hip problems. suddenly I saw my future.. and I'm not happy about it. So today, I am…

Macro counting, diary sharing, motivation?
Anyone active on here and want to be MFP friends? I count my macros and think having people who are sharing their food diaries and encouraging one another on their check in streaks and what not would be super helpful! My current goals: Lower body fat % Track macros (currently set at 30% P, 30% F, and 40% C) I'm 5'2 -1/2"…

Positive and adaptive accountability thread
Today, I posted some on fitness forum apps like a fitness discord and my fitness pal forum to get myself engaged while I was at planet fitness. I’m the last being in a forum kept me interested and hyperfocused on it - it works to get people into hobby forums so why not use it to get myself engaged in my gym goal if it…

Capsulitis + weight loss
I am posting this because I am just so frustrated at the moment, but trying to stay positive! I've lost 15-20 lbs (SW: 155lb, CW: 140lb, Lowest weight: 135lb). A big part of my motivation to be healthy and lose weight is to be able to be more active. Unfortunately I've been diagnosed with an annoying and persistent…

Eating before bedtime
I will do great during the day as far as eating goes, but before I go to sleep (always happens in the bedroom) I want something to eat. I know it's better not to so the body has longer to recover, and I know it's a conditioned craving. Besides just arguing with myself or giving in, what other tips/alternatives do you have?…

Body fat percentage: the tale of the tape
So I tried to determine my body fat percentage using the tape measure method. I know there are more accurate methods, but it was easier to access a measuring tape than a DexaScan. I plugged in the various numbers (waist, belly, hip, thigh, wrist, etc.) and got back the following results… I tend to think the Marine Corps…

My lack of progress
Heaviest weight 164.0 lbs today's weight 160.4 goal weigh 130 - 140 (depending on how I look if I get this low). I've been at this for a number of years. I did manage to reach 148.0 lbs about a year ago, but it all came back. Trouble is, the older I get (79) the harder it is to lose, and to say 'no' to snacks. So - here I…

Interesting group, may I join in?
Like a few other people who do MFP, this is about my 4th time around. I am 69 (well, will be next month, so close enough) and am finding it harder and harder to lose weight. I was doing reasonably well until about 2.5 years ago, when I came down with a very severe case of Covid. After six weeks in the hospital, I could not…

I’m new! Just a few of my thoughts
Hey guys! I’m really really struggling I compare myself to people daily and I don’t know if I’m making progress or not. I’m doing 100 push-ups daily for charity and doing a body weight workout from YouTube at least 3 days a week. My goal is to be lean. I need to learn how to get more protein in my diet.

Recommitting to Myself... want to Recommit to you with me?
Hey Y'all. Back in 2006ish, when I lost 100lbs, I lost the bulk of it after I created a group on the Weight Watchers forum where a small group of us touched base every day to either just share our plans for the day, to give support to another struggling, give and get tips, or just exclaim that we met our goal that day. I…
