Singulair (Montelukast)
I monitor my sleep using a Garmin watch. It's crude, but at least somewhat helpful. Of course, there's also my recollection of the night and how I feel the next day. In January, I had a period of improving sleep. I was really feeling great! But, into for the past several weeks, my sleep went back into the Garmin watch…

How do you stop self-sabotaging?
So I’m really not good at handling stress. And lately I keep getting hit with more and more of it… problems at work, way behind on basic household cleaning stuff, medical issues… my way of dealing with it all, at least lately, is to eat way more than I usually do. Normally I eat about 1400 a day, but yesterday it was…

Trouble sleeping
So, every time I have gone on a weight loss crusade my sleep is TERRIBLE. I go to sleep just fine but in about 2 hours I am awake and have a hard time falling back to sleep. It may take 1-2 hours to fall back to sleep and then within 2 hours I am awake again. It is so frustrating. I have started going to bed at 7 pm just…

Enduring/Overcoming Consistent Obstacles
I'll start out by saying maybe I just need to be told the same things I tell other people, but maybe it just needs to be said to me directly to stick and not just in my own self-talk. As many of you know I had a baby last year (my sixth) and I am trying to lose the weight from that pregnancy and then a little…

Two Garmin “excellent” sleep ratings in a row!
This is unprecedented. My most common Garmin sleep rating is “poor.” It feels like a huge accomplishment. I think it is associated with my dry January. Also, I’ve been exercising regularly and cutting sweets. Anyone else monitoring their sleep with their Garmin watch?

High blood pressure and arythmia 's
Hi everyone I'm Carol and am a 51 year old with high blood pressure for years. Just a few months ago was finally diagnosed with a arythmia (atrial fibrillation, AF, a-fib). I'm still learning my boundaries of what I can and can't do without my my heart dance. Doctor did give me the go for walking and a exercise bike. He…

Need Excessive Sleep?
Does anyone else feel like they need an excessive amount of sleep? During the school year when I'm getting up at 5:45 am to get my kids ready and take them to school I feel like I'm chronically exhausted even though I'm getting nearly 8 hours of sleep a night. Like fighting not to fall asleep driving home if I didn't nap…

Positivity
Up early feeling positive. It’s silly o’clock. I’ve cleaned tidied my kitchen. All productive for the day. Washing done. Breakfast cooking.. thinking out the box as their no milk and I’d usually have porridge. Came up with two large mushrooms with tomato x2 sliced up under the mushrooms. A stock cube bit water. Some basil…

Bad mental health day
Sorry in advance for the self-pity post. I’m having one of those days where I feel like a failure in everything. Tried to do yoga this morning and couldn’t do have the poses. Trying to get into healthier eating habits but keep slipping back into bad habits and can’t keep it up. Trying my best at work but it still isn’t…

Dizziness, Pins & Needles, Tingling and feeling cold.
I’ve been using the app for coming up to a month now on my calorie deficit. I recently had my 40+ NHS health check and my blood pressure, and cholesterol are fine. The last fortnight I’ve had dizzy spells, particularly tough on stairs. I’ve also started experiencing pins and needles sensations in my arms and hands,…

Minimalism hmmm...
I've recently become interested in minimalism as a mindset for emotional, environmental, physical & financial health. Many mindfulness resources mention only having what you need & love, taking care of yourself & your environment, that are minimalist principles. Are you into it? What is your experience pairing down &…

For My Free Online Therapists...
Not a downward spiral, yet, but I am definitely feeling a heavy wave of sadness that I hope will pass soon. Two weeks ago, my aunt passed away. She was 78, my dad's sister. I wasn't there, several states away, to say goodbye. But, my dad told her what I wanted her to know, though, barely conscious and completely…

Waking up irritable
Sometimes I wake up in such a terrible mood. I can't distinguish a pattern and was wondering if anyone had this experience and found there to be a particular reason why it happens sometimes and not others. It does not necessarily correlate with the amount of sleep I get. I am always tired when I need to get up and have…

High Blood pressure
Yesterday I had a Dr tell me I had high blood pressure. The day before it felt like my head was going to explode. I've been full of stress and obviously it tipped me over the other day. Has anyone on here had the same thing and found the best way to deal with everything. It's been the usual combination of family…

All that insincere attention will be your downfall every time
I am speaking only from personal experience, and can relate all too well. Smile and say thank you and move quickly from the compliments, if you allow the compliments to feed your ego, it's to certain detriment. As you are painfully aware now, nothing is worth losing your health to. Search out Strong Women, who can guide…

Anxiety - self help resources?
You'd never tell by his demeanor, but my BF has always had some anxiety issues, but mostly under control. But last night he woke me up in the middle of the night, asking me to hug him because he was freaking out and also terribly cold. He's changing jobs soon (prestigious international organisation) and very afraid of…

Yay, finally getting things done!
I'm totally into simplifying my life: living close to all shops, a not too big flat which is easy to clean, little stuff, etc. Only problem: I don't clean. And it drags me so down to live in a dusty flat that I don't feel like doing anything else. I finally found a solution for this: a vacuum robot! My flat is quite ideal…

A few tips for better sleep...
...compiled from my reading on neuroscience, and different popular research on sleep wellness. 1) Avoid exercise, or any stimulating activities before bed. These raise your cortisol levels, which in turn impedes your attempt to go to sleep. 2) Turn off all screens at least one hour before going to sleep. Avoid all spicy,…

Too tired to do anything but too wide awake to sleep?
What do you do? This has become a problem lately. Today I was feeling frustrated so I bought an energy drink, a chocolate bar and went for a walk. I'm guessing this isn't the best way to deal with it, I don't want to be dependant on energy drinks, I only want to drink them when I have a long drive ahead of me, but I have…

A few ways that have helped me to sleep
I alter what I do, mixing it up so my body does not get too dependent on one particular thing. I sometimes take CBD gummies especially for sleep. I sometimes take an anxiety/stress tablet made by NaturesBounty. I sometimes take an indica gummy (indica = in da couch). I sometimes take melatonin (was told by my doctor that…
