After months of getting off track for various reasons I have finally found some things that work and I;m seeing results!! With a combination of yoga, pilates and walking EVERYWHERE (I live in Chicago so it's easy to walk just about anywhere I go) I like the way I look again for the 1st time in a year  Just…

Little victory
Little victory this morning when I stepped on the scale. My weight loss journey has been going on for almost a year now. In December 2008 I was down to 146 but over the winter I had some family health issues that kept me from focusing on my loss. So on May 5, 2009 I started here at MFP at 154, so I had slid back up a bit.…

BMI-in my weight range!!!
This time last year my BMI was 29.9 - borderline obese. One more pound and I would have been obese and that motivated me into making a lifestyle change. After losing 30 pounds I was 25.3 and since joining MFP I am now 24.7 and in my weight range!

You know you're getting fit when..........
This is to go off the 'You know your losing weight when......' because I'm more after fitness goals than losing weight myself. Didn't know if anyone else had fitness victories they'd like to share. Here's mine: When you can mow the lawn (12,000 sq ft with hills) without getting winded or having to stop for a break.…

Just realized I'm half way there!
I started this journey over a year ago and fell out of it when work got too stressful. I had lost about 7 lbs but started eating pure junk again and gained about 5 of it back. Just about 3 months ago my husband and I started talking seriously about starting a family together. I started thinking about my health and my…

Walked a Marathon Plus
On Saturday night starting at 4:30 pm through 6:00am THIS Sunday morning, I walked a marathon plus 4 more miles. An accomplishment went I first started was not even a goal of mine. But at 3:30 am at 24 miles, I realized I was so closed and pushed for this final goal. I am totally happy. I will probably never be a runner…

Heck-to the-yeah.
I haven't had much to brag about as far as my physical condition in quite some time. I've actually been pretty ashamed of my physical conditioning. So here it is. I did the first day of the first week of the Couch to 5K program and didn't die. I didn't breathe hard. I didn't scream. I didn't freaking quit. I kept on and it…

Thankful for my wonderful hubby
We got a much needed get-away this weekend at the beach. I had already decided I was going to give in and eat the funnel cakes and french fries that are always on the boardwalk calling my name. So Saturday morning, before we went to the beach, my husband took us to the grocery store (having brought a cooler along) and…

Small successes...
I thrive off of mini goals and things like the stuff that are posted on the You know you're losing weight when... 2007/2008 winter - I attended a local college Basketball game that was raising funds for breast cancer - I was the "survivor" representative....I ordered a Save the Tata Tshirt to where that night - I ordered a…

3 Month Report: 38 pounds lost
I started on 3/18/09 at 256 pounds, having just been diagnosed w/Type II diabetes, on blood pressure and high cholesterol meds and having hit a new all-time weight high after being out of work for 2 months. Well, I am still out of work, but that DR visit finally motivated me to take (back) charge of my life. I took over…

Ran my first 5K!
Hey all! I know I haven't been around much. I am still logging food/exercise but I am really busy now. I live alone now so after the 9-5 I have to make my own food and wash my own dishes and look after my own rats. Along with training it takes up a lot of time. Anywho, last night I ran my first 5K race! I finished…

4 month diet....first 30 days of p90x
for the past few months I've been attempting to shed weight from being a former college football player...I was never really in poor shape as football kept me active and in year round shape....but there's no longer a need to bench press over 400 pounds and stay around the 300 lb. mark to battle in the trenches....I wanted…
