Exercises for my husband, any ideas?
My husband and I both have 100+ lbs to lose. He's already lost 15 lbs in the last month, but seems to have leveled off. Do any of you guys have any exercise ideas for him? He's leveled off and doesn't seem to be losing anymore. I think he needs to add some exercise, but he doesn't seem too interested in my walk aerobics.…

my extra weight is all in belly area.
My extra weight is all in my belly area. What are some good ways of taking care of the excess. I do Zumba classes Mondays and Wednesdays and try to catch another aerobics class another night in the week. Try to walk two to two and 1/2 miles a couple times a week also. Any advice would greatly be appreciated. (never had a…

Losing weight in the stomach
Hey, so I carry all my weight in my stomach, and I want it GONE! So far I have been jogging/walking twice a week for an hr each, and swimming twice a week for half an hour each, and have added in a half an hour on my swim days where I do things like lunges, suicides, sit ups, stutter steps(sp?) ect. Is this working my core…

One month to go!!!!
My first ever Half Marathon is in a month!!!!! I'm kind of freaking out already! I mean, I feel good about it. I know I've got the pace - I've got almost a 5-minute cushion on the required pace. I know I can go the distance - even if I have to walk part of it. I've done walks that go farther before. My training is solid,…

Something I find incredible; P90X and running.
So the backstory is that I was an avid runner, running 40-50 miles per week. I would run 7 miles a day, and 10+ when I felt good. I trained for my first marathon, but didn't make it. I sustained an overuse injury that has permanently ended my long running days. I was forced to find another form of fitness, so that's when I…

Help Using a Heartrate Monitor
These last few weeks are the first time I have ever used a HRM, so I wore my HRM while puttering around the house for an hour today. I wanted to check the accuracy, because my burn during exersize is always much higher on my HRM than the default burn for MyFitnessPal. It seems I only burned 74 calories an hour, and my…

Working out with menstrual cramping
I can handle the snow and sub-zero temperatures of our midwestern winters, but finding the motivation to get my booty out the door and walking or on the elliptical is extremely during that one week every month when my whole body hurts and devouring a tub of ice cream sounds so much more soothing. How do you motivate…

How to log
Ok So I have started a paper route. I only do it once a week so I wanted to add it as exercise. Today it took me 4 hours of walking with a 5-10 pound bag of papers. I stopped only once and I have deducted that from my time to get my 4 hours of walking. I also had 2 shirts, 2 pairs of pants, 2 pairs of socks, coveralls,…

how to start jogging?
I have been walking since sept on the treadmill. I do 3.0 and 3.5. If I do 4.0 its a little much. But I want to start trying to jog. I feel wierd at the gym, but at least I know how fast I am jogging. So my question is how do I start training my body to do more and then start jogging? thanks

Question for all the mom's out there!
Just had to ask and I know I'm not the only one out there who has this problem! I have a hard time doing jumping jacks or jumping in general without the feeling of needing to use the bathroom. :blushing: I know this is from having babies (3 of them!). With that said, is there a way to make this go away? When I was in high…

where do I find????
I'm looking for the c25k training plan. I'd like to join the group that is starting this week. :) I've been jog/walk/jog and can do 2 miles in 24 min. Now. Would like to follow more of a training plan so that I can really add some jogging and get rid of the walking all together. :)

Do you log all of your exercise?
I don't tend to. I take at least 2 15-20 minute walks during my work breaks. I walk with others so it's probably about 3 mph or so. I don't tend to count it but I'm wondering if I should. It's not really exercise to me, more like a leasurely walk with co-workers.

From an 8k to a 10-miler race? Doable or Stupid?
Do you think it would be possible/reasonable to go from an 8k race this past Sunday, December 5th, to a 10-miler race March 26th (that is 16 weeks in between the races)? I've really been wanting to run this 10-miler because it is in my alma mater college town, and I don't really want to have to wait another whole YEAR, but…

More P90X Questions
I just finished Week 1 of the Lean program and am loving it so far! A couple of questions though....the first few days, I wasn't burning nearly enough calories as I anticipated (only a little over 100 on core synergistics, for example), and I'm wearing a calorie counter/HRM. Today, I did X Stretch and burned over 400…

C25K - 5 days a week?
I was looking into doing the C25K but I can't do it on the weekends at home since I live in the middle of NOWHERE and the only outdoor place is our gravel (currently ice/snow covered) roads. Would it still work okay if I only did it 5 days a week (lunch breaks at work)?

Bruised tailbone...and training for half marathon...OUCH!!
Anyone out there fallen and "bruised"/"sprained" your tailbone?? They did x-rays and said it is not broken, so I guess that is good, but it has been two weeks and still hurts a great deal. I am just wondering how long recovery may take and when I can expect to try to get back into my running routine. I was doing really…

10,000 steps a day!I
I recently got a fitbit, and I have been finding that it is hard to get 10,000 steps a day unless it's a day I am exercising. I have an office job, and I guess I overestimated how much time I spend walking from office to office, front desk etc. I get about 5000 steps on non-gym days. Any suggestions on ways people are…

Improving 5k times
Hi everyone, I have completed five 5k races since August after working up from basically zero running ability at the beginning of 2010. I completed the races at what is basically a steady jog pace for me. Slow for a good runner, but grueling for me! I'm really happy to be able to do this for the first time in my life. But,…
