Running pains, need stretching help
I have recently been working up to jogging, basically awlking 4mph just about daily. I've been having some low back pain and right sided sciatica (left over from a car accident years ago). This morning, I jogged for the first time in years and am so stiff and I have a lot of pain in those areas. I stretched out right after…

Anyone use CardioTrainer on the Droid/Iphone?
I don't know if it's on the Iphone, but I have a Droid and that is what I use to calculate my calories burnt during exercise. Sometimes, it feels to me like the amount of calories that MFP calculates for something can be a bit too liberal. A good example: I wanted to do 30 minutes of jogging yesterday, and MFP had me…

I just added a Running Graph to my blog for anyone interested in progress thus far. >_< http://patrickbowman.com/my-running-graph/ This is my progress from no running at all to running/walking fast/hiking every day. I pushed myself hard twice with the 10 miles but at least I know my limits. In a month or so I will do 10…

30 Day Shred Results
Hey everyone So I've started the 30 day shred and am curious what results people who have completed the 30 days have seen. Can you actually do a minute of real push-ups now? What weights are you using... 3, 5, 8 lb? Do you feel like the 20 minute workout isn't enough anymore? (I can't imagine seeing as level 2 kicked my…

Anybody heard of...
...Leslie Sansone?? She does at home walking workouts and they're AWESOME!! Granted, they're not hard core gym workouts that get you lifting weights and doing long strenuous hours of exercising. However! They ARE hardcore aerobics workouts and I LOVE them! Her workouts have helped me in losing 36 pounds and I have seen…

So proud...
May sound pathetic but I'm really proud of myself for getting up when I really didn't feel like it & doing 20 mins. of high impact cardio for the 1st time since before I got pregnant (last October)! This is a huge accomplishment for me & I'm not stopping now. At least 5 days a week, no excuses. :)

Work it out? Or take night off?
I did Zumba Saturday for an hour, then Sunday for an hour and that class KICKS my butt! Was going to go again tonight but this afternoon my muscles are just achy all over. Nothing hurts: just achy muscles in the good kind of way! Just curious - those who are more knowledgeable about this, should I go to Zumba again and…

do you feel more or less hungry after you workout?
I was just curious how everyone else is. I find that I'm actually less hungry after I work out, whether it be cardio or strength training. I don't know if that means I'm just distracting myself so I don't think about it or if fitness exercises are actually appetite suppressants, but i was just curious to see how you all…

Saving exercise calories (challenge)
Starting Monday November 15, I am going to stay under my calories for a whole week without using my exercise calories. I will log EVERYTHING THAT I EAT! No matter how many exercise calories I burn, I will not use ANY of them to stay under my daily calories. I WILL NOT CHEAT, I WILL NOT CUT CORNERS! I plan to weigh in on…

P90X nutrition
I did the whole energy calorie thing. Where you do the formula to figure out energy use. At the end of everything it gave me 2880 calories. Is that how many I need to eat? For 1 I really don't think I burn 1900 being sedentary. But that's what it said I did. And I realize doing the regular classic phases I will build toned…

Hey guys, just curious if there is anyone in the NJ area.. Around Toms River or close. That knows where I can get my body fat professionally measured? HRM.... need help choosing
I am looking for a HRM to track calories burned and time in zone. I would prefer one that does a continual HR and not one that I have to stop working out and push the buttons. And I'm looking to spend around $100 (or less!). I have been researching and am leaning toward the Polar FT4. I would love to get some opinions from…

Motivational statement (read)
“We know that the effects of training are temporary. I cannot put fitness in the bank. If inactive, I will detrain faster than it took me to get in shape. And since my entire persona is influenced by my running program, I must remain constantly in training. Otherwise, the sedentary life will inexorably reduce my mental and…

V Shaped Upper Body
Most people think that in order to get that V shaped upper body like comic book super heroes, they only have to develop big broad back muscles and lats. Well, by having broad back muscles and well developed lats is only part of the equation to get a V shape upper body. For complete V shape upper body development, you will…
