I am doing a 10k walk in a couple weeks and this will be the most I have walked before all at once. Does anyone have any tips for me who has done it before? OK, I'm really confused about this calorie thingy
I dont understand how u have to eat the calories uv burned. Surely that means u wont lose weight ull just hit a plateu because ur calories being used by the body aren't going anywhere because ur just eating them again!! HELP??!!

Lifting weights 2 days in a row??
My gym instructors suggest no lifting weights 2 days in a row?? (I haven't gotten a chance to ask them why) Well, I kinda do a little of everything when I go to the gym and I usually go every day. Will this stop me from toning?? Thanks!:smile:

I ran 5 miles
Well, I ran 5 miles strait through with no walking yesterday. Its a first for me, going that distance. I used to run 3 miles when I was younger like it wasn't even there, but never had a desire or a cause to run 5. I did it in under 1 hour. About 54 minutes to be exact. All in all, pretty good. Why does my HRM show me burning calories when I'm just sitting around? Is this acccrate? Did I really burn 700 calories just cleaning the house w/o breaking a sweat? Can this be real? I just bought it this weekend.

Treadmills
Hubby and I are wanting to get a treadmill for running. There is a used Proform C 525 Treadmill with ProTech X2 cushioning, that I am supposed to go look at tomorrow for a pretty good price. However, reading reviews online it says this is not really a runners treadmill. Anyone know anything about it?

15k race today
I did a 15k (9.3mile) race today. my goal was to break 2 hours for the race and I did it with about a minute to spare. I was happy with the outcome of my race today. I ran with some of the women in my group and we all finished the race in good time and with good spirits.

Question about squats & lunges
I agree that they're the devil, but I still do them anyway! I've only been doing them for a few days, but I feel the burn everytime. My first 1 mile race
I know it doesn't sound like much but I do a lot more on the treadmill and the elliptical everyday but actually running outside in the cold and rain was harder then I expected. I have now decided that I am going to focus on training and run the half marathon in Oct. It is a really big goal but I hope to achieve it.
