Week One on MFP
Okay so wow, this site really does work. I was abit apprehensive about my weigh in this morning as I have been eating what i thought was quite a lot for trying to lose weight (but i felt i should try follow what mfp says). Even last night it said i hadnt eaten enough so had to pile in some coke and sweets and chocolate to…

Our bodies do weird things...they can be such a mystery!
I just thought I would share since I know how easy it is to become frustrated and feel like what we're doing isn't working. I noticed last week that I was starting to plateu. I've had GREAT success my first two months and I was beginning to think my hard work was stalling. I haven't been doing anything differently--eating…

2 causes of confusion...need some help!
Ok, so I'm a little confused on a couple of things so any insight would be fantastic!! 1) According to a fat calculator I used, in order to stay at my current weight (which I of course DO NOT want to do) I would need to eat about 4000 cal a day (omg wow...) the thing is though, now I'm only eating about 1800 calories a day…

Counteracting a BAD day?
How long does it take to counteract a really, really bad eating day??? Embarassingly, I consumed more than twice my calories today....total binge-eating.....now really depressed. :embarassed: Help! =( I've been so frustrated lately....with so much.....so I eat and nap. I've gotten off the nap thing, slowly…

Quicky Protein Snacks on the Go?
Any ideas for good sources of protein that are quick and easy to grab and take on the go (particularly if they don't have to be refrigerated but if they do that's ok too). I usually try to make my lunch to take to work the night before but sometimes I forget, I'm too tired, or just too busy. So in the mornings I try to…

lack of motivation
I was once 250pds and now I am 215pd. I lost the weight by making small changes and reducing portion size. I am looking to lose about 50 more but feel stuck at 215pd, I am 5 "4 and size 18. I just got a stationary bike but so far just look at it. Where does one find motivation? If I could buy it I would, but can't seem to…

Do you use up exercise calories?
I started 30 day shred today and also have been doing Zumba. I did not anticipate to earn back so many calories. Are you supposed to use them all. I scheduled my day out ahead and now after tracking the exercise, I have over 700 calories left, even after dinner and a snack. Do I need to use up as much as I can or let them…

Dressing Your Truth
I recently stumbled across an incredible, life-changing online course that I simply had to share. Even though it is not directly related to weight loss, I believe that looking and feeling your best IS. So, go to www.dressingyourtruth.com and take a look. There are plenty of "freebies" there to get you started, but I…

The Diet Solution
I saw ads for The Diet Solution and reluctantly decided to give it a try. At first, I honestly felt the ads were a bit "cheesy." Once I listened to what Isabel hds to say, the more I liked it. Some of the information was a bit difficult to absorb because frankly, it goes against most of the traditional nutritional advice…

30 DS--holy smokes!!
I was a little sceptical of this but I found it at Target for $9 so I picked it up. I did it for the first time today and I burned 220 calories in in the 20 minutes. And I was sweating buckets. I was impressed, can't wait to see what kind of results I get!

I slipped up and now I feel bad
So I get off and work and go to the gym, I burn 430 calories doing 33 minutes on the Elliptical trainer and feel good. I pick my daughter up and head home. When I get home, I notice that there were Little Debbie Strawberry Shortcake rolls sitting on the counter, more than likely for my kids. I was awfully tempted to have…

No matter what I do...the weight won't come off
I've tried everything. Ate my exercise calories and gained weight. Didn't eat exercise calories and gained weight. Decreased sodium/decreased sugar intake/ drank more water/ decreased carb intake/ changed up my workout routine/ eat more often/ using a scale for portions. I've struggled with losing around 10-15 pounds for…

I don't think I can eat this much!!
For the last 2 weeks I've only done 1200 cal/day everyday, because I don't eat back my exercise calories. Well now this past week I only saw a 0.6lb drop so I decided to adjust. Using a few different sources other than what MFP calculates for me I am supposed to eat more... to lose my projected 2lb per week. I've now set…

The Scale Does lie!!!
I have a weight Watchers digital scale. The problem is it doesn't read correctly. It has only given me my correct weight once before it began telling me I weigh 176. I Know I don't weigh that amount. How can I fix this or does anyone experience this issue with this scale? I got a new one because my last digie scale said I…

Maintenance Phase
I am coming up to reaching my weight loss goal and am looking to move into the maintenance phase. Something inside me is terrified of doing this! I know its stupid because at the moment I am sticking to my calories and losing 1lb a week like MFP says I will but for some reason I'm not quite sure I trust that eating an…

exercise calories
I am getting between 300-500 calories from my walking routine. 4-6 times a week. My question is this. Does this addition to my daily calorie intake increase my food consumtion goal for the day or do I ignore it. These extra calories should have some impact on my wieght loss goals daily and long term. I would like some…

question about weigh ins
Saturday is my official weigh in day.(lost 1 pound :) Anyhow, this morning, I was cleaning the downstairs bathroom and I jumped on the scale...and I had lost another pound..my question is whether or not I should log the new weight. Do you log a weigh in more than once a week. I know there isn't a right or wrong answer. I…

Is it really my age?
For the past 7 days I have been eating meals that I made up ahaed of time. Before I put them together I counted all the calories so I wouldn't be going over 1200 cal and 40 grams of fat. I haven't been able to exercise this week due to an injury, so I haven't needed to add any calories. I haven't lost AT ALL! In fact, I…

Small steps toward big changes...
In the past, attempting to become healthy, I've always be all or nothing. I would get motivated and do everything correctly from the beginning. I would lose weight, but it wouldn't last. I would get too tired/emotional/cranky/bored/burnt out/really hungry. Whatever it was that time, it caused me to drop all of my quick…

Baby Steps #2
Well, I did it! I got up and I MOVED. When I was a kid, I rode my bike ALL the time; all over town, up hills, down hills, everywhere. LOVED riding my bike. Once I got in high school and got my license, of course, that stopped b/c it was more fun to drive. BIG mistake. A couple summers ago, my husband and I bought bikes. I…

HELP
Hey guys, I'm about to leave for a full summer working at a camp. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how I can keep myself on track while I am there because I won't be able to attend a gym and I pretty much have to eat what they give me, while taking care of 12 children the whole time...? And does anyone have tips…

Why do People lie /fib with their weight?
OK, this post is probably more "Rant" than "Post" but........I live w/ a family member who hardly ever does anything close to excercise and eats nothing but junk food 24/7. Low Carb vs. Low Fat...What to do??? Help!!!
I've been trying to watch what I eat for a few months now. The weight isn't falling off, but I'm happy that I've lost anything at all. It's better than where I was before I started, right? I have a friend who began low carbing 3 weeks ago. He's lost almost 20 pounds. I tried low carbing about 3 years ago and lost a good…

How often do you weigh yourselves
I was just curious because even though I have changed the way I have been eating for only 3 days I am wanting to jump on the scale and just see if I have lost any weight. I also have a feeling that everyday I am going to want to jump on that scale and see if the numbers are shrinking, however I am concerned that I will get…
