Upper thigh pain
Lately when I am doing the treadmill I get sharp pain in my long thigh muscle running into my groin. It didn't bother me the first couple months, just the last week or so. But I have also been doing more leg presses and weight lifting. And lunges. I usually start out with the treadmill to get my muscles warmed up before I…

s2h earn points for being active
I saw an article in my most recent Shape magazine about an s2h band you wear on your wrist. It calculates your physical activity each day and depending on how much you do, you can earn points which you then redeem online for gift cards, products, etc. Does anyone have this or know someone who has? I think it would be a…

Do You do this?
So I am at the gym walking away on the treadmill and watching Man Vs. Food on the TV. Without consciously thinking about it I find myself mentally adding up all the calories he is eating. I have been doing this long enough I have a fair ideal what the calorie count is in almost everything these days and find myself doing…

During the summer I was walking 7-10 miles daily, and that's where my weight loss came in..now it's colder and I find myself a lot more colder and more tired. I am able to walk at least 5 days a week, sometimes mix in Wii fit but it takes so much out of me..over the summer I was thriving with energy..now..not so much.…

P90x and running???
I love to run 4-6miles most days of the week. I actually "néed" to run most days of the week because of the mental release it gives me. I have been thinking about doing p90x (already have the program) but want to know how and if I can incorporate running with the program? Thanks for any thoughts or personal experiences!

Personal Trainer Here
I have been busy personal training and have not posted for awhile. Things are going well with the training. Most of my clients are working out really well and losing the weight. People debate all the time if one needs a personal training. I would have to say yes and no. Some people are very knowledgeable on nutrition and…

Found this is another post----very uplifting! LOL!
The main process to repair the micro-tears begins in earnest at night, once you enter REM state. If you said the correct mantra prior to going to bed (If I may, if I might, please turn my fat to muscle tonight) and leave your window open, this allows for the true process to begin (Tinker & Bell, Fat to Muscle, published…

I have a hard time eating right when I get up, just please give me a cup of coffee. So when I went to exercise (doing 30 Day Shred) I was really sick to my stomach and almost lost my cup of…

Did you talk shop yesterday?
At any time during the day did you find yourself talking about diet and/or exercise with anybody yesterday? I mentioned MFP and we talked about some exercise options through…

First of all, I want to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving! Today is the day to be thankful for all you have and all you have been able to accomplish. Heart Rate Monitors
I went searching for HRMs on Amazon. Some of your posts make it sound like you have monitors that strap around your chest and the like but all the ones I saw were watches (and a couple of belts). Are the watches accurate? I need something in a moderate price range (think under $100).

Exercise question: seeking exercise savvy people
Ok, so I’d like to know if it is better to workout twice a week for two hours or four times a week for an hour? Or is four hours a week still four hours a week either way? I’m referring to cardio/toning and not weight lifting.

Calculating/recording net calories for exercise
Hi, I'm curious about best practices for calculating and recording NET calories burned from exercise rather than just the total calories burned? For example, last time I wore my HRM for an hour just around the house, I burned 100-200 calories/hour; shouldn't I subtract that 200 calories from the 975 calories I burned in an…
