New Runner--inner thigh pain question
Hi all--I noticed there is a MFP runners club can anyone join?? I have a question for fellow runners. I just started running again now that Spring is in the air (actually I should call it jogging) I run 1 minute then walk 1. I did a 45 minute run on Tuesday of this week and then a 45 minute run today and my inner thighs…

Polar F-11 fitness test
How accurate is this test? Why do I ask?? I redid my HRM fitness test both yesterday morning and then again today to double check it- I got a reading of only 26 "fair". Last August when I bought the HRM the fitness test gave me an "elite" reading of 55... it went down a bit to 47 & 48 by November (still "elite"). I'd…

People look at you like you're crazy when....
Your treadmill breaks so you go from store to store trying out new treadmills and "logging" each 10 minute trial in your exercise journal. I found a new treadmill AND got my exercise in!!! Oh how I wish that I could have afforded some of the more expensive models...

HRM problem?
I recently bought a HRM and used it for the first time while on an elliptical machine. I programmed the HRM with my age, height, gender, and weight. I programmed the elliptical with my age and weight. The calories burned according to the HRM was 196, while the elliptical showed 297 calories burned. I assume the HRM is more…

Nike sport bag is the bomb!
Recently my partner and I decided we were going to join a local gym that caters to people with hectic schedules (open 24/7). We both needed a decent gym bag we could keep stocked and in the car. We looked at so many bags but they were all lacking interior pockets, in some bizarre size range or didn't have a shoe holder…

Post Exercise Snacks?
Hi, I usually exercise after my last big meal for the day (dinner) so I was wondering what are good snacks to eat after exercising to get some of the exercise calories back? What do you guys eat after you have exercised? Usually I eat a yogurt, but given that they only have around 95 calories and I usually burn between 350…

Couch to 5k???
Good morning! I was wondering has anyone tried the Couch to 5K running program and if so, what were your results? My best friend and I just completed week 1 and we really enjoyed it. For those who don't know about the program, it is supposedly able to take you from being a couch potato to being able to run a 5k in 9 weeks.…

Running Outside vs. the treadmill
I've been trying to log my exercise daily and I notice there's no way to say if you're running outside vs. on the treadmill. I've heard running outside burns a lot more more calories. Does anyone know roughly how many more calories you burn running outside (with a few hills) vs. on the treadmill? I know I can easily run 50…

Treadmill suggestions?
Well - it's happened... I borrowed my moms treadmill to get me started and it turns out that even though a treadmill hasn't been "used" for 11 years... it can be "worn out". It would appear that the motor is going bad... grrrr. Seeing as me being without a treadmill is simply not an option... I was wondering if anyone has…

Not good enough!
I am starting my 8th week of boot camp this week, and I surely thought I would see the weight just fall off. NOT HAPPENING! I have lost 6lbs, but my weight fluctuates quite a bit. There could be a 4lb difference from one day to the next! I know I shouldn't weigh myself daily, but I think it helps to keep me from snacking.…

SBF2 Reboot Boogaloo - April 5th
Sunday morning slowness. Yesterday, I managed to get a 90 minute walk in as well as 60 minutes of yoga. I ended up teaching my FIL yoga rather than doing the video we brought. He is one of the tightest people I've ever taught - especially for being in reasonable fitness. I had dessert yesterday - it was placed in front of…

serious about the belly
I have had two c-sections and everytime I lose weight I still keep that lower belly pouch. Does anyone know if it will ever go away or how to do it? I lost a lot of weight a long time ago and I still kept that and it is very disappointing to know you work so hard and it wont go away.

Does this make Sense???
Do you ever look in the mirror and "see" a difference or just "know" that you feel different and have gotten more toned. Then, you pull out the measuring tape and IT'S THE SAME???????????:noway: im used to fighting with the scale, but the measuring tape too?? and I measure the same every time ...blah
