Need advice. Hubby is NOT on a diet!
I am looking for some strategies on balancing my diet needs and my husbands meat and potatoes preferences. I also have a 7 year old..but she is a fantastic vegie eater. She and I could eat fish and brocolli several times a week but he prefers meatloaf, etc. Any suggestions appreciated!

Any Veggies out there??
I am a vegetarian (lacto-ovo, so I eat dairy and occasionally eggs). I have many ideas and meals that I have been eating over the years but looking for others to swap. I particularly love cooking with beans and grains as they seem to be most filling. Anyone have some new ideas?? Thanks! Brenna

Would freezing yogurt
make it lose any nutritional value? I've got a few containers of Yoplait 99% Fat Free Orange Cream Yogurt sitting in the freezer. They're yummy and take about 40 minutes to eat (so it forces me to eat slowly). They're my sort of ice cream thing. But it occurred to me, would freezing the yogurt take out nutritional value? I…

Dining out help...
Hi, dh and I are going out to dinner and a movie tomorrow night. We'll probably go to a steakhouse like Texas Roadhouse. I know the obvious choice- grilled chicken salad -hold the cheese and croutons and light dressing on the side. Besides that what would be a good choice? I DONT want to undo all the hard work I've put in…

Japanese food?
I'm going to a Japanese Steak house tonight for dinner. I have had a VERY rough week (although I weighed in this morning at the lightest I've been since starting MFP!!) and my friend is taking me out to dinner tonight. I'm sure I will go over my calories a little bit, but I haven't in a long time, and I'm allowing myself…

What does your daily meal plan look like?
I am supposed to be getting 1200 calories a day an I usually have 700-900 exercise calories. Problem is, I can barely eat my 1200! I normally get around 1100 and even then I'm full. Here is what I have eaten today..what does your meal plan look like? B- 2 tbs of Cafe Vienna Coffee with 1 cup of water, 1 packet of brown…

Food Poisoning
Hello Everyone, For the past two days I (as well as my boyfriend, his uncle, and cousin) have been suffering from food poisoning ( we believe it to be so- we started feeling sick hours after the resturant, and that was the only meal we had all eaten together in the past few days) Either way, I have been drinking lots of…

Anyone hear of the vitamin called 'chromium'?
I heard that the vitamin 'chromium' is supposed to help you lose weight because apparently it helps stop sweet cravings and helps speed up your metabolism. But is is safe? I bought some at a health food store and have been taking them for a little while now and haven't really noticed much of a difference... I still crave…

When weighing food
This is probably stupid but it's something I always wonder and I really am trying to be accurate when I weigh and measure my foods. I never know if I weigh food before I prepare it if I am getting the correct nutritional content. Like I buy frozen already cooked chicken breast strips and you just microwave them to defrost…

Food on a budget...
So, whenever I buy food it's a weeks worth of healthier but cheaper things....though I STILL always go over budget and the end of the month is left with me consuming a lot of just whatever I happen to have and going off of my regular daily routine  I would say I could plan ahead a little better but really I do…

Amazing flavor enhancer!
So, I do a lot of Indian/Med. cooking, and I recently picked up a bottle of rose water for a dish called gulab jamun. Anyways, so I'm throwing together a smoothie tonight after doing some aerobics, and I realize that all of my bananas have spoiled thanks to the heat. So, I basically have protein powder, soy milk, some ice…

food traditions broken
I was reading an interesting forum topic on ivillage about quirky food traditions women have caught from their mothers and grandmothers...you know...stuff like not making rice and potatoes (starches) for the same meal or marshmallows on your yams. It made me think of how I sort of had to reject family food traditions in…

A delicious blend of sugar, wax, and condom lube
We are all concerned with the number of calories that are in what we eat but it seems that our desire for a low caloric number clouds our judgment regarding exactly what it is we are eating- one big favorite here is cool whip. Instead of using real whipped cream, which yes, has more calories, many here opt for a tub of…

calcium and iron
I've noticed that I'm not getting enough calcium and iron. Does anybody have any suggestions? I don't eat meat and I have to watch my dairy intake because it can really upset my tummy. I realize that I can take supplements, but I'd like to get more of my nutrition from real food. Thanks, Holly

I have been a member for over a year and finally figured it out FOR ME......that is the key words...FOR ME.....I have been counting calories and exercising so much more than what I enjoyed. Coke Icee
Coke icee's are my downfall. I am a water drinker. I drink water all day long. No coffee, no soda, no lemonaid, nothing else. But sometimes I really want my icee. When I am having a bad day at work (like now) that is my pick me up. I limit myself to a small (8 oz) and I really have to need the icee and it can only happen a…

Too much protein
I started MFP on Monday, and have consistently gone over my alotted protein every day. Do you guys know if too much protein can work against weight loss? I've only ever heard the good things about protein (e.g. keeps you feeling full, longer lasting energy, etc.)
