So full......
I usually eat only 700-900 calories a day, but since my weight loss has come to a halt, I thought I would give 1200 calores a try......well, I am on day 2 and feel like a stuffed sausage. This cannot be right, can it? I am feeling pretty miserable. This is my first step, I am hoping to evolve to eating a bit of my exercise…

How often do you allow yourself a "free" day?
I love hamburgers and french fries and potato chips. I eat very well all week and exercise. But I want to cheat 2x a week. Is that ok? What's your suggestion and generally what's a good "cheat" for you?

Should I be eating more?
I read that I should be consuming like 1200 calories a day. But I notice that my caloric intake is closer to between 900-1000 a day. Should I be eating more? I am eating healthier or rather making healthier choices, but aside from that, I really haven't changed the times or the amount of what I eat (I am trying to snack…

Too much protein?
I have begun the Body for Life program and it recommends protein shakes, bars, etc and eating 5 meals a day. I have actually lost weight - 2 pounds in two weeks! But when I enter my diet into the food tab, my proteins are way higher in comparison to my balance of carbs and fats. Is too much protein bad?

Moosewood cookbooks
A friend of mine was mentioning a rather famous Restraunt in Ithica called "The Moosewood" which specializes in healthy and vegetarian dishes. They have a series of cookbooks available, and I'm considering picking one or two of them up. However, they're a touch expensive (~30$ a piece). Before I go opening the wallet - has…

Foods to Beware!
One thing I love about this program is really seeing the calories in some of the foods I eat. So I had a potato knish yesterday, and whoa is it bad for you! Of course I knew it wasn't healthy, but I was still surprised. 214 calories 112 from fat. 19% of the daily fat and 20% of cholesterol! Ok, I'm going to put this food…

eating more to lose more?
Good Morning Ladies and Gents... I just joined MFP less than a week ago, and I am loving it, I love how I am able to track my exercise and calorie intake. This tool has helped keep me motivated because I feel guilty when there is nothing on my exercise log. or negatives on my calorie intake. I have a goal to eat only 1200…

Okay. So. I know you're supposed to eat the exercise cals. I get it. I do. But just wanted to know what everyone else does and how they have fared with all this. In other words, do you eat all of them and still lose, eat all of them and not lose, or do you eat them and gain. I kinda want a consensus on what those who have…

Counting vegetables
Hi there, I am new to this site, but I was wondering do you include calories from vegetables in your daily allocation? I am confused as I have heard that the amount of energy it takes to eat vegetables is more than what is contained in them. But is this part of the BMR calculaton anyway? It's not really a big deal but it…
