One Year MFP Anniversary
So, one year ago today, I joined MFP. I had just turned 50 years old and was at least 30 pounds overweight. As others have stated something inside just snapped and I said "enough". I started walking 30 minutes per day, 5 days per week and figured as long as I did even just that- it was better than what I had been doing,…

Finally punched through a plateau!!
Something shocking happened last night & I'm really stoked about it. I've worked my way up to running a 5 mile course a couple times a week, generally completing the run in 46 - 48 minutes. For a couple weeks now I've had a goal of running that course in less than 45 minutes (it has 3 monster hills), but NO LUCK.…

No so sickly skinny anymore
Hello everyone, This was really hard work for me and I was never able to stay motivated to see a fitness program all the way through until now which just makes victory all that much more sweet. I am very happy with what I have done and plan to go for more. http://eyesoffire.net/passionforfitnessinfo/small2.jpg…

Despite drinking way too much (and going way over on calories) and not eating so great and only working out once in the past week, I still LOST A POUND THIS WEEK. I was seriously dreading getting on the scale this morning and even considered not weighing in this week because of my bad weekend. I was so relieved to see that…

My 1st Before & After Pic
Hi everyone, I am pretty new here and have been "lurking" around reading your posts. I love how you all are so supportive of each other. It's fantastic! Tam Tastic's before & after pic (which is just amazing I might add) inspired me to make one of my own. The before pic is from last fall just before my "lifestyle change"…

My weekend was bad--just bad. No riding. Felt bad most of weekend. Hot and humid here, and I mean HOT AND HUMID. Just gross. And WINDY on top of that. Church functions both days, which are fun but mean FOOD (and desserts, although I did only have 1/2 a brownie Saturday). Yesterday, I ate too much sodium laden-stuff, too at…

I've been craving a donut for the past two weeks and of course this morning my supervisor pops her head around the corner and chips "Hot donuts in the conference room!" And its almost exactly time for me to eat breakfast so I'm starting to get hungry. I was tempted so I hopped on MFP to see how many calories I would lose…

A small victory
Today I had my usual mini lunch....a smart ones frozen entree with some added veggies, and a glass of green tea. The strangest thing happened about 3/4 through my meal. I felt full. Now, as a fat girl with a serious history of binge eating, I was very surprised to feel satisfied after eating such a small amount of food.…
