I met my first goal!
I stepped on the scale this morning for my weekly weigh in and I looked down and saw 178. :noway: I couldn't believe it so I stepped off and then back on again and sure enough 178. I finally made it under 180! It was a small goal I know, but those first few have been the hardest for me. I hope I'm on a roll! Oh and…

The second try seems to be the charm- 10ibs down
It took me a while before I took advantage of MFP I think I signed up almost a year ago and kind of explored the site and checked the calories that I was eating out of curousity. I wasn't committed though- Now here I am again and have been paying attention for a while now and checking in daily. (I even found the forums to…

New goal accomplished!
Last weekend I curled 50 pounds, per arm! My form wasnt totally perfect but it was close enough to be counted. When I started out a year ago I had tiny little girly arms and was curling 12 to 15 pounds per arm. After only a set or two id be reduced to 5 and 10 pounds per arm. My girlfriend lifted heavier weights than me. I…

So glad I took my measurements before/after
When I started on this site in June I saw a few threads that suggested taking your measurements. MFP'ers had issues with no weight loss for a few weeks, but working out like crazy. Of course fiting in those old jeans can be pretty accurate, but during a 'down' time measuring will bring you up again just as effectivingly. I…

A Doctor's Reward

He loved the progress!! He asked me about my diet and exercise. His reward to me was 3-fold: He stopped the Metformin, which I have been taking for 3 years. He…

I RAN 5 MILES AND LOST MORE!!!
Yesterday Morning I weighed myself, and the scale said 178.4. I have been doing great on the phetermine, and I wanted to push more. My son has karate at the gym we go to, and his class is one hour long. So I got on that track and started jogging. I initially was going to stop at 33 laps, but when I got to 33 I thought why…

Running my first 5k
I ran my first 5k this weekend. I couldn't have done it without my 12 yr old daughter "Baby Girl". See, she has been my inspiration for my weight loss. 2 years ago "Baby Girl" was diagnosed with a very rare bone cancer in her pelvis. They removed the golf ball sized tumor and half of the right side of her pelvis bone. No…

A teeny meeny step
My first success, though a small one. I had tried earlier to switch to green tea, instead of coffee. Read somewhere that 4-5 cups a day will keep your metabolism high. I crave coffee at work. Once, just once to kick my brain to start. Since my protein intake was real low(vegetarian and no eggs), I decided to take a protein…

U.S. JUNIOR RYDER CUP
Pardon a wee bit of braggin' on my little girl-- she was part of the recent U.S. Junior Ryder Cup team that competed in Bowling Green, Kentucky. She and her team beat the European Junior team 22-2, a margin of victory that "they" say will never be realized again. PGA officials told us our American team became a part of…

I made it through my first week!
It is already getting easier. I still feel hungry sometimes, but the cravings aren't as bad, and today at work I said no thank you to cake, and I didnt even feel like I was missing out on much. I know in a week or so the weight loss will slow down to 1-2 lbs each week (which is fine!) but I did quite enjoy losing 9 pounds…

Just a little thing
I started this website 1 1/2 months ago. That is when I started working out. It may be a little longer. Anyway I bought a HR monitor and when I first started working out like walking for an extended period of time and I would try and jog just a little my HR would be up close to 90%. Now when I do that it is about 80% or…
