So if I calculate my coffee with let's say 2 tspns of sugar and 1 tbspn cream but say only finish half my coffee, should I calculate that as 1 tspn of sugar and 1/2 tbspn of cream?? I am thinking that even though I drank half, ALL the sugar is absorbed into the coffee?? I hope someone understands my thinking LOL Stupid…

Frustrated!
I have only been on this site a few days. But already I am frustrated. Not in the way you might think. I am easily getting under my calorie goal each day (with the exception of my first day when I had eaten takeout twice in on day and that HARDLY ever happens). I have not changed my habits since using this site and I am…

Significant Others.
I must say that after a year of being on MFP, I've read my share of heart-breaking stories. But what I think takes the cake (in my opinion anyway) is posts by frustrated MFPers who rant/blog about unsupportive significant others. , I've heard ridiculuous stories about Husbands/Wives/Family Members who turn into…

Are you serious about losing fat? Weight?
I am! I decided on Easter Sunday that I am tired of getting fatter and fatter as the days, weeks, and months of my life tick away. I had been on fitness kicks in the past, but they were short-lived. I decided that day to take drastic steps to change my life forever. No more excuses. No more roadblocks. No more giving in to…

Caffeine
So two of the personal trainers at the gym were talking to my friend and I and the one said that if you drink caffeine about half hour before you work out (she recommended half a can of regular Coke) that it will somehow intensify your workout and you will end up burning far more calories than without it. The second…

Atkins/Ketogenic/ Paleolithic Diets
Hello everyone, my name is Mark and I have lost quit a bit of weight thus far. I used to weigh 270 lbs and for those of you wondering what I did; I simply controlled my portions and ate balanced meals. I added a lot of exercise as well (5 days a week that included weight training and 30 minutes of cardio). I have been…

Something's not right, but what?
For a long time I have been exercising and eating healthy food, but the pounds were beginning to creep up on me, so I set a goal at MFP to lose just six pounds, half a pound a week. I have been carefully watching the calories every day (except one Saturday) for three weeks, and I am losing weight slowly. I have continued…

By the time I get home and start cooking its aroud 8pm. I've heard from so many people that eating after 7pm you can gain weight and then I hear from…

Birth Control and Weight Loss/Gain
Okay, I've been trying (mostly halfheartedly) to lose weight for several years now, and I've just recently (read: within the last 4 months) become sexually active. I know that I'm not doing well with taking my depression medication (yes I also have a strong family history of depression as well as having it myself) every…

Adultery Diet
I found out on December 26 that my husband was having an affair. Since then I have lost 16 pounds in less than 3 weeks. I cannot eat. I had to puree carbs protien and fruit to suck it down during the 2 weeks prior to running my WDW marathon. I ran it in under 6 hours with a broken soul. But I did it. Now I am at my goal…

Protein Questions
I've been thinking about starting a Protein shake lately as I have heard it will help with weight loss. MFP puts my daily protein goal at 45, however I usually average around 65 simply because I eat a lot of egg whites, chicken and beef. The large majority of my protein intake usually happens around breakfast time, on an…

Stuck to daily goals all with week BUT....
there is no weight loss?! I really don't understand because all last week I managed to do exercise everyday and stick to the recommend daily kcals intake of 1200 and yet it seems I haven't lost a lb. I'm thinking it might be because I weighed myself after breakfast (but only a small bowl of fruit and fibre)? But it seems…

Weighing In Question
I saw that a lot of people weigh in on Wednesday, so I decided to join the pack. Since tomorrow morning is weigh-in day, I need to know what everyone does with digital weight. My scale weighs in increments of .2 and goes up the scale to .8 Do you round up for .6 and .8 and round down for .2 and .4? Or is .4 close enough to…

How many people have elected to do 1 pound a week?
Hi All, I set up my MFP for the one pound a week. I am of the school that if you lose it slow, your body won't know. And I'm trying to find a new way of eating for life that the pounds come off and STAY off. I do have a substantial amount to lose (between 50 and 70 pounds.) But from reading most people posts, it seems that…

Basically I will be really good all day and go to bed not hungry but either when I am on the brink of sleep or while I am asleep (I wake up but am only semi-conscious) I will get up, go into the…

How to measure Fat loss ?
I have been tracking my food intakes and find this website is very useful. I am 5 feet 11 inches tall. I reduced from 204 lbs to 200 lbs in last 2 weeks. But I am not sure, whether the weight loss is coming from Water or Fat or muscle. As anyone, I don't want to lose my muscle or get dehydrated, my intention is to lose my…

Scale Accuracy
What is the most accurate scale out there? I go by my digital one at home, but at the gym there are the two other kinds (forgive me, I'm not sure of the proper names for them) - one I think is a balance scale? and the other is where the the pointer goes to the number, lol. My digital gives me great numbers, but at the gym…

Your thoughts on this?!?!
""For many years, running has seemed the ideal form of exercise. It improves your fitness levels and the health of your heart. It boosts your metabolism and can help you lose weight. It costs nothing - after the initial outlay on a decent pair of trainers - and can be done anywhere. Since jogging became popular in the late…

Calorie Hoarder
OK, I used to "hoard" snack and treats for myself, now I want to hoard calories and not use them. I get 1200 a day, but if a sprinkle of cheese on my salad is going to cost me 30 calories, I will do without it even though I have the cals do use. I think it is becoming a slight problem. I have went to extreme on calorie…

Low Calorie Diet
What are you thoughts on this?? If you're really overweight - You can go on a VLCD (Very Low Calorie Diet) or eat less than 1200 calories a day & lose like 5 pounds a week for maybe up to 3 months before your body ever goes into 'survival or starvation mode' because... People who are really overweight have lots of body fat…

Why are we eating (drinking) none meal items to supplement o
I have viewed a few diaries that are filled with shakes, diet bars, etc.... Do anyone eat meals anymore? If we are trying to make a healthy change for the rest of our life how about learning portion control and eat a healthly, balanced diet. I know we all have busy lives and want to get rid of the weight quickly. However…
