delicious salad!
I just made the yummiest salad for lunch! I don't know if any of you have olive/antipasto bars at your grocery stores but at my Fred Meyer they have a great one! So I got some marinated artichoke hearts, kalamata olives and green olive mix to add to my salad. I added some sauteed chicken and topped it w/ crumbled goat…

Green Tea & Asparagus
:ohwell: Just thought that I would share about my experience with Jillian Michaels 7 day 7 lbs lost diet. It worked! But the amazing part is that she says that green tea and asparagus is a natural laxative and for you out there that don't believe let me tell you IT IS! So from now on I drink at least 16 oz of green tea and…

Now I<m down to around 117 and decided to use this same site to recalculate my BMR for kicks and it said it was 1,360... But recalculating my BMR didn't change anything automatically in my goals or daily intake,…

Tuna (the canned kind)
I finally found a canned tuna I can eat. I LOVE salads and usually eat them for my lunch, but I needed some different kinds of protein to add to it for my lunches. I got sick of grilled chicken all the time. I just discovered Bumble Bee Seasoned Tuna Medley, Sundried Tomato and Basil. Holy cow, it's awesome on it's own,…

Low GI food before exercise = more fat loss!
I saw this on AOL today: Foods with a high GI index are digested quickly and absorbed into the blood stream, spiking blood sugar levels and raising insulin levels. Foods with a low GI index are digested slowly, so they allow gradual absorption into the bloodstream and with it, a gradual rise in blood sugar. Recently,…

working out/ eating follow-up
last week I asked this question in the message board: is it better to wait to eat after your workout or can i eat before (kinda shortened and to the point) anyway ... and i got a bunch of different answers and also a link to a similar question that had a bunch of answers. SO I decided to go to a good source and was hoping…

Eating Out
So I will be going out to dinner tomorrow night with some friends, but I am not picking the resturant. I know that salad is my best option most likely but sometimes they really aren't that healthy when you get them from a resturant. What should I look for on the menu to eat, and is there a way to record food you order when…

Peanut butter
Okay, here I go again. I checked out ALL the brands on the shelf. I mean ALL. Anyway, I decided on Smucker's Natural Creamy Peanut Butter. Only ingredients, peanuts & salt. Even though I bought it, I feel guilty because of the calories. Is it better to use the "regular" peanut butter instead of the "natural" because of the…

Odd concoctions
I just made what I thought would be an odd concoction that actually turned out pretty well! It came about because I don't have a penny until I wok tonight, and I am almost out of food. I looked in the fridge and saw that I had some 2% mexican shredded cheese, half a tomato, an avocado that needed to be eaten soon, and a…

discovered a diet buster!
Gah! I regret to inform everyone that a steady diet of bloody marys and Corona Light does not help you lose weight. They should put that on The Today Show or something. I had about 2-3 beers a day during the 10-days I was on vacation last week, and gained 1 lb! This is along with biking about 7-12 miles per day, hours of…

Hi - I need some suggestions on lunch/ breakfast foods that I can carry to work with me with little or no protein but a decent amount of calories. Sodium v. Calories
I eat lower calorie foods that are prepackaged and are high in sodium. What is better to have higher sodium and lower calories or higher calories and lower sodium. I know sodium can make you retain water, but does it make you fat? Can't you flush that water retention out by drinking more water?

Polar F4 and Swimming
Has anyone taken their F4 out for a swim? I really want to find out how much I'm burning during my "leisure swims" because MFP gives me a high number and I don't think I'm burning that much. I don't swim very deep ... I stick to the surface for the most part. It says it's not recommended but I don't know if that means the…
