Exhausted after workouts
I have always been completely exhausted after my workouts. I could honestly lay down and go to sleep immediately afterwards. I checked with my doctor, and they can't find anything like low iron or other that would explain. Does anyone else feel like this? I'm on a 1,500 cal (pre-exercise cals) diet, which I fully eat, plus…

Hey Fitness Experts...
Does it make much of a difference if a workout is before or after a big meal? I don't mean right after; I realize that could make you sick. Sometimes I will splurge on a meal but offset it with a harder workout. But I'm wondering if that extra long workout should take place before the splurge of after (within 12 hours)? As…

Heart Rate while running?
I really pay attention to my HRM while I am running. At a slow pace I usually stay in the 150s. I have been pushing myself and running harder. Tonight during my 5K I got up into the low 170s. I get nervous just looking at that number and it psyches me out! Just curious what others HR range is and where I should be? Thanks!

How do I log Abs of Steel toning workout?
Happy Thursday everyone! I just started the Abs of Steel sculpting and toning DVD. Today I did the 5 minute pilates section and the 5 minute floor toning section. How do I log this into my exercise ? I didn't see any activity like that listed anywhere. And if it's not listed and I create my own entry, how do I know how…

30-day Shred question
I just got this Jillian DVD and I like it so far. Here's my question...I learned that one is not supposed to do weight-training every day because the muscles need a day of rest. Is it ok to do this video every day? I realize that it's called 30-day Shred, but does that mean that it's 30 "consecutive" days? OR is the…

HELP!
So after i work out i like to sit in the sauna and relax for about 20 minutes. I know that your heart rate raises a bit and i break a good sweat. Does anyone know what this translates to in burned calories approximately? If anyone has any info on saunas and health related info please share! Thank you MFP!

10k and didn't even realize it : D
I woke up a little late today, and I'm going out in the afternoon, so I decided to skip the commute time it takes to get back and forth to the gym, and simply run outside. I've never really tried running seriously outside before (of my free will) so this felt a little different from the treadmill. It was hard to tell how…

Should I count regular activities as exercise?
Hi, I have a question, hope you can help. I walk to work every day, then back home at lunch, then back to work, and finally, back to my home when my work day ends. Each walk (from home to work, and viceversa) I do in about 15 minutes, walking at a brisk pace. So that sums 60 minutes a day walking... That I have been doing…

wii fit calories
I have just found a web site that will calculate calories burned based upon your weight. It also has a pull-down bar so you can choose which exercise. I don't have a HRM so I don't know how accurate it is, however, it gives me some idea of the calories burned. I am using it to log my Wii fit exercises. Hope this helps! Let…

SBF2: Reboot Boogaloo! June 10th
Starting the thread. . . Today it just looks like I'll get some walking in. I have to teach (probably? who knows anymore?) and then I have three appointments on campus. I really hope I can get a real schedule by the end of the day, and there aren't any more changes. I am a creature of planning, and frankly this is playing…

GoWear Fit vs. HRM - Anybody know anything about this?
So I've been trying to decide if I want to invest in a heart rate monitor, but I recently read something about the GoWear Fit and for the price, it seems like that might be the way to go. Has anyone ever used one? How did you like it? If you haven't heard of it, it's a device that tracks all the calories you've burned for…

HRM accuracy
I' ve had my HRM for a week now and so far everytime I work out (biking the same routes) it gives me a different amount of calories burned each time. Granted they are all within like 50 calories of each other more or less.....I am assuming this is because we don't exert the same amount of energy exactly each and everytime,…

Yoga kicked my butt!!!
This morning I did a beginner's yoga DVD with Rodney Yee. It was really hilarious. He was moving through the poses pretty rapidly and I ended up in a heap on the floor laughing MAO! kickboxing
I've been going to this kickboxing class every so often and I LOVE it! Does anyone have any success stories of kickboxing and how it worked for them? Maybe I'm looking for motivation to go more often :blushing: I do run a lot, but I never feel like anything is better than running, for whatever reason.

Low Impact workout ideas?
In the past I've been a total slave to the elliptical trainer at my gym. I'm looking for a little bit of a different workout that would change it up a bit. After 45 mins of the elliptical I'm horribly bored. Running is out of the question since my knees are a bit screwy. But does anyone have a good 1 hour workout routine…

Exercise Questions......
I am a weight loss surgery patient (gastric band) and I have lost just over 100 pounds in about 10 months. As you can imagine, LOTS of saggy skin. I would like to work on my arms in particular, right now. I have a set of 3 pound hand weights. How many sets, how many reps, what's best for the "bat wings" and biceps? Any…

Help! Fear of dogs when walking...
Hi! I'm new here and have begun a walking routine. I love my route - 3 miles roundtrip with a big hill in the middle. I was attacked by a german shepherd years ago and have a genuine fear of dogs - until I get to know them - then I'm fine. There are several dogs along my route. One of them ran at me yesterday and I firmly…

Nike+ ipod

Is it accurate at tracking distance? I have a heart rate…

HRM for tennis
I'm starting a tennis class on Monday (I've played for years but use the class as a way to keep up my skills and meet people to play with). In the first couple weeks, we'll be doing a lot of drills, which means a few minutes here and there of waiting in line to hit and receiving instruction from the coach. I plan on…
