Unhealthy food but within calories?
Ok, so I do not want to "cheat" in that I don't want to ever go over my calorie limit (i'm sure they'll be times, but I just don't want to). But I've been thinking. What if I want pizza? Like if I went to pizza hut and only ate the salad and 2 slices of pizza (520 calories) and had water, and placed that into my food diary…

For those who need to eat calories
I went for a ride today that earned me more than 2000 calories. I already ate a bagel before I left 'cause I know how hard it is to eat all these calories. Then when I was shopping I saw PowerBars. 300 calories! And you can even buy them with extra protein which sure helps your muscle recovery.

The 411 on Lying Labels!
1. If something seems or tastes too good to be true, there's a good chance the stats are off. For example, if you prepare a packaged pizza with a 200-calorie label and you taste buttery crust and see a pool of oil on top of the cheese (hello, EAT RITE PIZZA!), the label is WRONG. VERY wrong. 2. Big boys don't lie. If a…

What you eat or don't eat for breakfast can make or break yo
PUBLISHED 07/07/2004 What you eat--or don't eat--for breakfast can make or break your running. The alarm sounds, and you roll out of bed and into your running shoes. Within minutes, you are out the door cruising around the neighborhood. Nothing can stop you--except maybe that dead feeling in your legs. And that empty…

Struggling to eat 1200 calories
I have been eating about 900 calories a day (+ exercise at least 3 days a week) for a while now, and am still not losing any weight. MFP suggests I eat 1200 BEFORE exercise, and since I seem to have hit a weight plateau, I think it might be a good idea to increase my intake a little. However, I just seem to naturally eat…

Is this a bad idea? Advice, please!
Hey everyone! I've been on MFP for just about 2 weeks now and I am LOVING the sense of control that comes with knowing I am taking care of myself. As you all know, this is July 4th, the day when people typically go out and eat lots of stuff that they shouldn't. I live in the Houston area, and so every other place…

Weighing Foods - FYI
I have an electric kitchen scale and have noticed lately that a lot of the weights of foods are incorrect. For example: a yogurt that should weigh 125 grams might weight only 105..... a tin of drained tuna that should weight 56 grams might weight only 45..... or a piece of bread that should weight 23 grams actually weighs…

Digestion, energy, and fat storage for dummies
WARNING, this may get a little long. So here is a simple primer for people who don't really understand why we have to eat the way we do in order to lose weight. This is a highly "dumbed down" explaination, so for any chemistry majors out there, bear with me, this is for the layman and I don't want to bog it down with too…

over my calorie goal by 2600 calories yesterday~
Oh my! I knew it was a choice I was making. I did that 2 days in a row! UGH! I felt horrible like I had a rock in my gut this morning from the pepperoni pizza. Is it true that it takes about two days to gain a pound and see the gain? So today I am eating very very lite if not fasting.
